Something Old is New!
My Brother in law fixed up a house that had an old "porcelain over cast iron" sink.
The buyers did not want it and he knows I love them so he offered it to me!
We have one in the greenhouse , they wanted to replace it but I said "No way!"
HERE is the story posted with this photo
We have one in the old kitchen downstairs
Now I will have one in my kitchen upstairs, which has this sink,
That old sink will look great!
Isn't that a HUGE fern? It will take over the kitchen.

That's very neat, Beth.
Excellent! I love that picture of the sink filled with apples, and I am glad you are the kind of person who can be delighted by a second-hand sink. We need more like you who appreciate the simple, pretty, useful things.
Whay good fortune! And that "old" sink looks like new!! (they hardly wear out!)
How many kitchens do you have? LoL
Cook on... cook on!!!
A great find.
@dreadpirate - Three! Four if you count my moms!
I had one like that in my house...it's like a built in draining board....those sinks are awesome!!
I was offered a thousand dollars for mine.
Oh what a beautiful sink!!!! I can't believe the people didn't want to at least keep it! You are so lucky!
You could split that fern up into about four ferns and have one in every kitchen window! Ferns are so pretty!
I totally love older sinks. That looks great!
That's a beautiful sink! Who says old things can't be great? I like Spinner Mom's idea of splitting the fern and putting one by each kitchen sink.
Awesome. That fern is like the cousin it of ferns! lol!
I love stuff that is made to last. Here in my loaner house, most stuff is prefab, but I will be looking to rent a room at a farm house somewhere around here, when money gets freed up or I get a steady job, which ever comes first.
out with the new and in with the old
those are great sinks and ferns....my fern got left outside during the last freeze, I gave it a buzz cut and hope it'll come back
These are better sinks than anything we can get new. I love the apple story too. One of our neighbors has such an old apple tree and shares with us. Wonderful applesauce and apple butter come from them.
I LOOOOVVVVVEEEEEE old sinks that have it's own backsplash!!! And yes, that is a huge fern. Love what you've done with the sinks.
You are quite the collector! Those sinks look really neat, and I'm glad that you can grow ferns....because I can't.
I love those old sinks, and they really do last forever!
Very pretty!!!
Love that old sink. I find my best treasures at the thrift shop up the road.
omg, it's beautiful! The new sink looks great!!
I love things like that and I sometimes cannot understand why others don't appreciate them. In my opinion, that sink is much much nicer than any new one I could find in home depot.
Looks like that sink is in excellent shape!
I love it!!
Wow, that's a great sink! I love antique things, and that so many of them have lasted this long. That's craftsmanship.
Sweet! That looks really awesome
It looks beautiful Beth! My Pop will be jealous, he want's one like that for the garage.
Very cool, I also like your functional wall art!
that is pretty-we sell sinks at our antique mall if we have one.
This may sound silly... But that is my dream sink! I can tell you every single detail of my dream kitchen, but I never thought of the sink, lol. & Absolutely love that one!
ya know they were burning down my hubbys grandparents home (don't ask, it breaks my heart) and in the kitchen was a beautiful cast iron sink like this, I begged hubby to get it for me but he never did...I still miss that sink I never had!
oooh, i'm going to short out the computer... from drooling.
Yaaaaaaay! What a treasure!
A great find! Good for you!
I love those kinds of sinks! So awesome!
It's in such good shape too. Way cool!
Hahaha. That fern just loves you so much. He can't help himself.
A most ideal way of making something old look new again. And it will last a long time too.
It's so great to use old stuff and it's usually much better made than new stuff. And often made in the USA!
I love your sinks! I would love to have a cast iron sink instead of the modern stainless steel one we have. Yours looks right at home! And I am sure it will be well loved!
