  • Reworking "Fat" Clothes

Most of us have clothing of different sizes to wear
when we gain or lose a few pounds.I gave most of my larger clothing away ,
I kept a few things , maybe not so much to wear again but to remember where I was.
I did alter the things I could to wear them a little longerI have three shirts in this style that
I got at Walmart a few years ago.

I added thin elastic above the waist ,to make it more like a smock top.

I am glad that I can get a little more use out of themI finished the blue one ,

so I am using this to show what it looks like.

  • This is such great news, Beth. Wear your "new" clothes in good health!

  • Gary, you bless me~

  • The pictures aren't showing up right for me (I see red, blue, and yellow squares), but congrats anyway on your weight loss.

  • I bet they are cool but I am unable to see the pictures too

  • @Erika_Steele - Same here but I just see the tags. Hopefully after I post this comment it will change. We must be here too early.

  • The images in your post appear to reside in your google email, which of course, no one but YOU can see!

Words fails me when it comes to your accomplishments! The surface changes reflect a deeper internal growth that is awesome!

  • @RighteousBruin - @Donkey_Guy_10 - @PPhilip - @SisterMae - @Erika_Steele - Sorry about that, Xanga would not let me upload pix so I tried it through the email which did not work, I added the pix via my phone ap.

  • Way to go, Beth -- you're doing great with the weight loss, and what a good way to continue using the clothes!

  • A year ago I decided I would never wear anything that didn't show I had a waist... I use belts a lot. If I were handier, I'd go ahead and sew in elastic like you did.

  • The tops look good on you. Xanga shouldn't wait until everyone has a problem before they fix things, but they don't seem like they care anymore.

  • Congrats! Hopefully you won't need them again after long and they will be only a reminder!

  • I like the way it looks now better than the original. Great idea!

  • That color looks great on you!

  • Great idea!  Keep up the good work

  • You are beautiful! And so talented! And have I mentioned smart? Yes you are!

  • That is a great idea! I have lost a lot of weight but hate to buy new clothes when mine were not that old. :) Thanks!

  • Doing very good Beth. Have you considered the physics of weight loss yet? You know how most of what we eat and drink comes right out, almost all of it in fact, but extra calories are stored away for a rainy day. So if everything we eat and drink except for a small part, goes right out, how DO we lose weight? Carbon dioxide. You breath your weight away, and of course you eat less. Physicist Richard Muller of the Berekely Physics dept has tested to see just what a person would have to do to lose one pound. The results were 2450 flights of stairs would result in a net fat burning of 1/3 lb of fat. Seems a bit ridiculous to think of exercise as a poor way to lose weigh, but it's true. The value to exercise is that it makes you breathe more, more breathing more CARBON dioxide is expelled and weight is lost.

So if you consider every diet that is now or ever has been out there, all of them do only two things because there are only two things you CAN do to lose weight, and they both depend on conservation of mass and conservation of energy. You eat less and breathe more. That's all you need to do to be successful. So don't kill yourself, just find something pleasant to do that raised your breath rate and the pounds will fall off.

  • @brown_buffalo - thanks, that makes a lot of sense!

  • You improved them!

  • You're always a beautiful and sexy lady to me, in whatever clothes you're wearing, Beth.

  • So much more flattering!  It looks like you've lost about 40 pounds (at least!) from the first pic to the second!

  • Good job and you are looking good.

  • I admire people who can sew.  I have trouble putting buttons back on.
It is great you've lost weight.  You're more healthy and feel better too I bet.

  • You are so creative and beautiful too.

  • I've lost weight and I just give my fat clothes to my sister cause she's up on her wt. right now but I think she'll see that I've lost about 32lbs so she'll get jealous and lose wt.,too.  I'm an 8-10 pants and she's still 16.

  • Those tops should be so lucky to consider hanging with you.  I love you, my beautiful!

  • Yay for weight loss!  Since I am not handy in the sewing department, I'd use a belt.

  • I always like that you always keep to your own individual style, that sweet Beth we know of. Some vain fashionista wannabe would've wear false eyelashes, wear push up bra, have expensive dental job and wear shimmer body cream to even attempt to look good, but you are effortless. You don't need all that stupid vain stuffs to look beautiful.

  • Great idea!  You look great!

  • Very well done!  So creative!
