  • To Kill a Mockingbird

Last night we went to see 'To Kill a Mockingbird' in the movie theater .
I've seen the movie a few times, I even have it on DVD, but to see it on the silver screen was a wonderful experience . Sometimes when I watch a good classic movie I wonder what it would look like on the silver screen .
I've seen 'The Sound of Music' and
'It's a Wonderful Life' in the theaters.
Is there an old movie you would love to see in a movie theater on the big screen?

  • I love To Kill A Mocking Bird.....We watched the Green Mile last night, and our screen on our t.v. is huge.....No this isn't the first time we've seen it, but watching it again last night, brought home the fact that Michael Charles Duncan will be seen no more, except in the old movies he starred in....

It was a sad day, when he closed his eyes for the last time here on earth.....He was a great actor....

  • Arsenic and Old Lace!

  • Fiddler on the Roof. The Wizard of Oz.

  • Would love to see "Harvey" on the big screen.

  • Dancing in the Rain!!

  • I can't pick just one, but I'll go with Wings. Or Adventures of Robin Hood, The Mark of Zorro (Tyrone Powers, sigh). John Wayne, and Clint Eastwood westerns. Anything Cary Grant @randaness - I love that film. @murisopsis - I thought it was Singing in the Rain.

Also pretty much any musical, Fred Astaire, Gene Kelly, Bing Crosby...

  • This is my favourite movie and book! I even named my dog Atticus. How wonderful to see it on the big screen!

  • Miracle on 34th street. The old one.

  • i do love that movie theatres are bringing back the classics :)

  • @badtimin - Officially yes, but as a Donald O'Connor fan (who doesn't really do much singing) I focus on the Dancing! Hehe. But you are absolutely correct - the title is Singing in the Rain.

  • The Maltese Falcon

  • I would love to see Citizen Kane.  I was a broadcast major in college and we spent hours discussing how Orsen Wells changed the size of the furniture to make some of those shots.

And @murisopsis 'Make 'em Laugh' has always been one of my favorite songs & dances... of all time!  Good choice. :)

  • Would love to see The King & I

  • @murisopsis - I love Donald O'Connor, though I think I've only seen two of his movies. Singing/Dancing in the Rain and Anything Goes. He's awesome though, funny, charming, and triple-threat talented. And there's probably just as much dancing as singing in the movie.

  • I would love to see any of Shirley Temples child movies on the big screen.

  • None for me.  How much did it cost?  Here movie prices have gotten expensive, even with a matinee, which is now $8.

  • I miss all the cultural stuff from the Bay Area. I used to love to go the Stanford Theater in Palo Alto, a beautifully restored palace with red velvet curtains and so much class. It was only like $8 for a double feature and the best times were Wednesday nights they played silent movies with an organist accompanying on a restored Wurlitzer. It was magical. My favorites were the Harold Loyd comedies. We have nothing like that here in Reno.

  • i would never be able to choose, so it would have to be all of the above for me!
