  • For Sandra

My friend Sandra (@SandraErickson) wrote a poem for me and posted it.
I can't even begin to express the feelings I had as I read it,
it was love poured over me and it touched my soul.

written for @seedsower by Edgar Crane
and inspired by her encounter with those dumb-ass boys at Walmart.

    For Beth, Suffering Fools, Lightly

    My darling disregards all Philistines,
    a Goddess of generous heart and mind;
what cares she if some are thoughtless and mean
spirited; they are truly fools and blind

to the perfection of her curves, her smile -
those luscious lips, the sparkle in her eyes.
She's all woman each step of every mile:
strong and beautiful, sweet and kind and wise.

Let me defend and hold you in my arms.
Oh,let me be your champion, employ
my devotion, I'll keep you safe from harm
Forget them she whispers, they are but boys

    and you and I have better things to do;
Oh, Beth, you are my darling and I love you.

When we were in Jamaica on a mission trip,
way up in the hills of St Elizabeth working at a school for deaf children
we learned a song at the church we went to
and I often sing it when I feel blessed.

    I am blessed
    I am blessed
Every day that of my life I am blessed
When I wake up in the morning til I lay my head to rest
    I am blessed
    I am blessed

My niece and I made a little audio clip of this song,
for Sandra as a thank you for the
most beautiful poem, I truly am blessed with extraordinary friends.
It's not the best quality recording and I am not a great singer
but it is from my heart.
Thank you Sandra, I love you too, you know I do to post this clip!
    MUAH!

  • the poem is sweet. your song is sweet.

  • And I'm blessed to know you.

Maybe the dumbass boys will know better someday.

  • I was going to write a poem for you, but Sandra took all the words right out of my mouth!

  • You're my everything by the Temptations

This song was written by Roger Penzabene as a testament to his love
for his wife. After learning of her cheating he was heartbroken. He
then wrote "I Wish It Would Rain' describing his pain, then finally "I
Could Never Love Another" to finish the trilogy of how he felt.

    Unable
to handle the extreme pain and unwilling to leave his wife, he wrote
the last two songs as personal statements to her, publicizing the pain
she caused him. After both songs were completed and recorded, tragically
    Roger committed suicide.

    Lyrics:

You surely must know magic girl
    Cause you changed my life
    It was dull and ordinary
But you make it sunny and bright

Now, I was blessed the day I found you
Gonna build my whole world around you
You're everything good girl and you're all that matters to me

When my way was dark and troubles were near
Your love provided the light so I could see girl
Just knowin your love was near when times were bad
Kept the world from closin in on me girl

I was blessed the day I found you
Gonna build my whole world around you
You're everything good girl and you're all that matters to me
