I was looking at this tree trying to figure out why it bowed ,
I've never seen it like this before.

I think it's because all the green leaves are still on the tree,
it has not turned color yet.
Usually by the time we get snow the leaves have fallen off and it is winter bare.

Very beautiful...
lovely!
An umbrella tree! We saw this sort of thing in Flagstaff, during May-some years. I feel sorry for the poor trees though. I wouldn't want to get soaked while wearing my Sunday best.
Weird weather today. We had hail, lightning and thunder this morning followed by a gorgeous fall afternoon. I hope your tree will be okay.
That snow must be heavy on the limbs-looks good though
It's sad because winter came too fast so it's drooping.
Whatever is making it bow down, it is beautiful.
Wow, that's so amazing! Must have been a pretty wet snow. Maybe because it hasn't entered into the dormant stage, it is more flexible?
Yeah, I'm sad about the snow. We were right in peak fall colors and now it is cut short.
I hope that tree is okay. I heard there were a lot of downed limbs out there today - I stayed indoors and did not venture out.
Maybe the tree is just tired.
Looks to me like two images one could match poetry/ lyrics to!
Our weather reports talked about the danger to trees of early snow when the leaves are still on them -- that the weight of the snow and the weight of the leaves combined to be heavier than the tree could bear. I hope the tree survives this snow!
i had to shake off my lilac a couple times today. i agree that there's a poem in there and that it's very pretty.
I saw a report on that storm on tv tonight and they were talking about how the trees were drooping because there was more snow on the branches with leaves than when they are gone.
Poor tree.
I miss the snow, so much, this time of year.
Poor tree! It looks very sad that winter snow caught it unprepared.
This makes me sad! Winter is long enough without an early snow.
The same happened to my tree in our front yard. One branch even snapped right off and is touching the ground... That's a gorgeous photo you took..
We see trees do that here every so often... during ice storms and early or late snow storms. I always find it fascinating! Thank you for sharing the wonders of your world. You are a treasure to me greater than gold! I mean have you ever tried making gold laugh? It just sits there.
322 closed between Ephrata and Walmart. Downed trees
It must be a softer wood tree. Hope it doesn't break under the weight! When we lived in the US, one early Spring we lost a lot of trees to a big ice storm.
It was Unreal yesterday driving in snow in October in DE! We usually don't get snow when you get some but we did. Those trees will be ok after it melts.
I can't believe you've already had snow!!!!
When we had heavy snow last winter, the trees with leaves were the ones that broke.
Either way, its gorgeous! Snow pictures are my favorite pics of all!
