  • Things I made over the Weekend

    Bubble Tea

I heard so much about it but have no where to get it so I made some,
it was good,I think bought would be better.
    I used THIS recipe

Classic Bubble Tea Recipe – How To Make Bubble Tea

1/2 cup chilled, cooked large tapioca pearls
(if substituting smaller tapioca, use 1/3 cup)

    1 cup crushed ice
1 cup very strong chilled black tea (or chai tea or Lichee tea)
1 cup milk, or to taste
    Honey or sugar to taste
    See Instructions HERE

    I made great Hot Salsa

I cooked these peppers in a little water for 20 min or so

Then I added a can of Rotel tomatoes, salt, garlic and lime juice.
I put it in the blender, it was very good.

I made some cards with pretty paper.

My nephew got a jigsaw for Christmas, he made hearts and sanded them.

I helped him decoupage napkins on them to make pretty Valentines.
I mixed Elmer’s Glue with water.

    He gave me one!

  • i ve always wanted to know what was in bubble tea.

    oh, salsa….now i’m hungry.

decoupaging is fun -  i make a huge mess though.

    really neat, Beth

  • I love the salsa stuff – and the bubble tea first looked like milk and grapes – the cards were fantastic – how aren’t you a lazy person like me!! haha…

  • Making your own BBT? Lady you are badass.

  • Love the cards, I’d love one!!

  • I like the cards and the salsa sounds really tasty.  I may have to try that.

  • All this looks good and what a sweet nephew you have.

  • Bubble tea? I had not heard of it thanks for the recipe. Salsa is a pantry staple for me but I’ve never made it myself. Your nephew is very clever indeed, those hearts and your cards are really lovely. Looks like a very productive time.

  • I’ve heard Val talk about Bubble Tea, but I’ve never had it. Was it good?

  • are you always so productive? lol looks like a fun weekend

  • I had some spicy Indian food the other day that was served with a side of what looked exactly like your bubble tea!  It must have been tapioca pearls – but I think they were floating in some kind of yogurt sauce.  That salsa would kill me – I’m such a wimp on spice!

  • Well Chad got out of making his Valentine’s.  Little stinker.  The girls and I sat at the table for hours and made them.  I said to them, “I only have one more year after this one to make these things.”  (Chad’d last year in Elementary is next year.)  My oldest said, “No way, Mom.  I’m dropping my kids off here when Valentine’s rolls around and you get to make them with them.”  Shoot!  Just when you think you’re near the finish line.

You were a busy woman this weekend.  Lots of great creations!

  • Love bubble tea.  I have friends who adopted from China.  We celebrate Chinese New Year each year with them.  the children like the bubble tea.  (they make it like smoothies wih black tapioca pearls in the bottom.)  YUM.

  • @Cestovatelka - Bubble tea doesn’t taste anything like regular tea, as far as I’m concerned. It’s…unique unto itself.

  • All that AND you sowed seeds? You’re Wonder Woman! I like the bubble tea made in the little tea rooms. They make it lactose free and offer lots of different flavors.

  • You are such a busy little bee!

  • Your valentines are so sweet and isn’t it cool that you and your nephew got to craft together.  Love that.  Peace

  • I’m thinking someone might have to goat tie this cowgirl, to get me to try any bubble tea.   But, now that salsa is a whole nother story.  I have my chips in dipping position.

  • The salsa looks fantastic but don’t think I could get into the bubble tea. You are one busy lady!

  • Love the hearts.

  • Nice Valentines!!  I don’t think I would like that tea as I am not a fan of tapioca.  I love any kind of Salsa!!

  • This is so nice. Your so creative.

  • My friend drinks this.  It looks interesting.  ♥

  • bought bubble tea is delish!… the best stuff is from taiwan

i think it looks better with the dark tapioca pearls
i salute you for attempting it nonetheless!!!your salsa looks pretty yummy… and spicy too.

  • @unfathomablelove - I have to look for the dark tapioca, this was good though.

  • I am going to try your tea.  My son Matthew has just discovered tea and he and I like to share a pot in the mornings.

  • I bought a bubble tea once.  Maybe it was just the place, but it tasted like there was just way too much sugar in it, so I shudder at the though of bubble tea.  To be honest, though, that recipe sounds easier on my stomach and not too painful to my sweet tooth.  :)

  • busy weekend… I am thinking it would be harder to find hte pearl tapioca these days… I have had that tea in Chinatown in Philly many times…yummy! but not to everyone’s liking

  • I’m envious of your creativity.

  • I love tapioca but not floating around in my tea!  :)   Beth, I’d love to spend a weekend at your house.  I’ll bet there’s never a dull moment!

  • I love bubble tea and ty for the recipe and instructions on how to make it.   You make such wonderful things.

  • Wow. I have never heard of bubble tea. I don’t think it sounds like I would like it. I do love your crafty ideas! You are so gifted with stuff like that. You feed my soul with your beautiful photos and other lovely work. Blessings on your day! I leave for Ireland on Friday! Wheeeee!

  • Love the valentine projects.  Very crafty and very cool!  You’re so talented.

I don’t think I could do the bubble tea – tapioca is onmy list of “things I will not even try” because I saw frog eggs in a drainige ditch when I was a little kid…and I would never try tapioca after that.

  • You are so talented! I have a scrollsaw and would love to have someone show me how to use it! Love your cards and that bubble tea looks good!

  • I love homemade bubble tea! So neat that you made some! How did it turn out?

  • Bubble tea, I had heard of it but had no clue! Now I do!
