A Child's Thought
A few years ago my 3 year old niece 'Anna' and I were watching
the old Douglas Fairbanks movie,
"Mr Robinson Crusoe" it is in black and white.
I explained to her that the film was made in 1931, the year my mom
(whom the kiddies call "Mildoo") was born.
Anna loved the movie and watched it twice.
The next week she asked;
"If the world was 'black and white'
when Mildoo was born,
When did God COLOR it?I bet she pictured God with crayons

I hope you don't mind me stopping by, by now I know you like to post nice pics. The 1950's will forever be gone from the modern history of America. The night clubs with trombones, the positivism and dreamy sensation of being high on love in the clouds... will forever be gone, just like a nostalgic cry for Germany's Hitler. My niece ( I call her my little ice climber when she wears that thick coat) was drawing on her color book (time and date unspecified) and the look on her phace was so adorable, like one of those lil baby chimps that stare down for reasons I'm not sure why chimps do that.
That is so precious - both the pictures and the story. ♥

That reminds me of a Calvin and Hobbes comic in which Calvin is talking to his dad about black and white photos. His dad tells him the whole world was black and white at that time. Then Calvin asks about all the old paintings. How come they are in color? Hid dad tells him that artists were insane and imagined all the colors.
reminds me of when we were going to get to go visit my dad, who was living in a much larger town than the one we lived in then, and our little town had very little racial diversity. to try and avoid one of those "art linkletter moments" with one of us, dad sat us down and told us that we would most likely see some "colored people" during our visit and that it would be rude to point at them or call attention to them in any way, but he would answer any questions we might have when we got to where we were going. i plastered my face against the window the entire way, hoping to spy at least one, wondering if they would be purple, green, red or perhaps maybe even sparkly...

That is so sweet and innocent. One 5 year old little girl I know said when she gets older she's going to marry her 6 month old younger brother. So she can take care of him. Its adorable when they're at this age.
