Strange Hair Color
When we were on Route 66, in the dessert and the hot Southwest sun
my hair got bleached to a red color.
When I got home I tried to color it back to my regular dark color.
Well ,certain parts of it turned copper, bright like a penny
but it is only really noticeable in the sun.
You can see my dark roots growing out again.
Here is out of direct sun
It is so odd and I look like a two tone Chevrolet in the sun.
I have no clue what to do...
The hair dresser tried to color it twice.

Did you go to the same hair dresser you normally go to?My friend went to school for aesthetics and hair dressing. It is only 7:30 am here but in a bit I can see what she has to say.
It's probably not that noticeable to other people. I wouldn't worry about it; just let it grow out.
well, we're headed into pennsylvania fall and winter. no reason to fear the sun. i'm going to go out west. always wanted to be a red.

Yes! It will grow out! And as long as it is neat, and you smile - no one will notice! It's not like getting wrinkled - it will go away!
I like the copper color.
Try bleaching it blond and you can pretend you are a dumb blonde. It's fun, I do it all the time....or wait until it grows out.
I actually like it! If I don't color mine often, you can see the grey. Be grateful it's copper and not silver!
Go back to Rt. 66 and let the sun finish the job.
and what, may I ask, is so wrong with being a red? I agree with @murisopsis, embrace your inner red-head... at least until it grows out, eh. I don't think it looks that bad
It always grows out and can be trimmed til it is gone:) I quit coloring my hair a few years ago when my thyroid died and coloring it started making it fall out. Today it is long down my back, and totally gray:):)
You might try shampooing your hair with Prell shampoo a couple of times that might make it blend a little better I would only do the dark areas.... I don't think I would do another color for a couple of weeks... Many times when my hair took the color strangely that is what I would do I learned that trick from a lady that was still doing hair after 60 years....That way the hair didn't have to take another chemical treatment...Also a heavy conditioner may help to blend it
