A New Born Kid...
yes ...a goat!On Thursdays I go to school to help my nephew read,
after school I take him and his brother and sister home.
On the way home from school we usually do something fun.
Sometimes we go to a goat farm to get milk and cheese.
They have the best homemade cheeses!
The farm is called Kirchenburg Farm, it is in Moselem Springs PA
The farm sits up on a hill and is owned by Old Order Mennonites.
They built a store there on the farm, they sell free range eggs too.
It is an incredibly beautiful setting.
When we got there the children were playing outside.
The dad was busy so the oldest of the children
went into the store with us to get the milk.
When we left the store the children were so happy to show us
all the little kid goats.
They milk about 60 goats right now and have about 30 kids.
These little kids are about 2-3 weeks old.
They love to suck on fingers
and were so playful.
He showed us a baby that born just a few hours before we got there.

The little goats are so sweet! When I was ten, a family who moved into my friend's house had a goat, which gave them milk. I learned to love goat milk.
The kids are so cute! Looks like a neat place to go after school!
Reminds me of home. We used to have goats too and would get so excited when they had kids.

I had a dream a few days ago that my goat, Bambi, had twin babies that looked like the brown baby with the long ears in photo #6. I believe that's a little Nubian.

My girls volunteered at the petting zoo one year and loved it. Now they have a yard full of animals including goats. There's not much that's cuter than a young kid.
We had new kids on Valentines Day 2 bucks and a doe. All doing great! Their Mama is 8 years old and she is a wonderful good milker.
