I Love Mobile Phone Photos
Something about the way phone pics capture everyday life amazes me.
We can document our daily lives in seconds
and see things that are easily missed otherwise.Almost daily my mom will make me oatmeal and a burnt piece of toast,
just the way I like it.So simple yet it captured every little detail.

Burnt indeed!
do you really like burnt toast? i'm also curious about that article...
very nice. i love oatmeal
Thats really crispy. You and my mom would probably be good friends on that account.
@promisesunshine - They are the articles she cuts out for me to read while I eat, I never have to read the paper she tells me what I need to know and cuts out articles of interest....I am soooo spoiled!
My grandmother always ate her toast burnt. She said it was healthier that way - less calories and would "purify" your system... There might be something in that (charcoal)...
@seedsower - i never read the paper either. but i'm sadly unspoiled and uninformed. you two are mighty lucky to have such a close relationship.
I agree, most of my photos these days are cell phone photos. It sucks because I have this nice camera that I wish I could use more often, but my phone is so convenient that those photos end up being my favorite ones - taken right in the moment.
@lorelei - Exactly!
I didn't know cell phone photos could be so nice!
@UnconventionalButterfly - I have a Droid Incredible 8 megapixels, this is right off the phone.
I love it! She's even gonna grab that toast with pinchers - not her bare fingers.
and I love that breakfast combination, except I would be putting 1% milk on my oatmeal.
I saw my mom this weekend and she was gonna send back with me some of her homemade peanut butter granola with chocolate bars and I can't believe it now but I refused! I was so proud of my last blood test that I was afraid I would overdose on those things. I sure hope I didn't hurt her feelings.
our pawpaw always said eat the burnt toast - it's good for your teeth
I don't have a cell phone but I saw a video made with an Iphone4 (?) that were incredible....why doesn't my oatmeal have an easy pour spout
? wait - is that raspberry jam on that toast

@rnjennison - you should have taken them and sent them to us....your mom would be happy, you would be happy and we would be happy.
Mildred is an angel.
Thank you for my morning laugh, Beth!
@dingdongdingbat - Are you laughing at my burnt toast?
with smartphones taking over and their cameras being so nice I have the feeling cellphone photos are going to become the norm, and the only ones who will use other cameras will be professionals, hipsters, and those too young for a cellphone!
My fingers don't capture photos like yours do. You just got talent!
lol Looks like coal!
great shot and I love cell phone photos too as I can sneak it out in walmart and take photos:)
such a cool picture
My mom loved burnt toast, burnt hot dogs, and burnt marshmallows.
That is a cool shot - well composed and describes the moment very well. Makes me want oatmeal too
This is such an amazing shot, shows such depth. I like my golden and have to fix it myself.
That's a good photo. I've been pondering for years if eventually 3G cameras (camera phones) will replace 2G (digital) cameras as our main source of visual capture. Sadly, the answer appears to be yes, but it makes sense. I'm sure large-format cameras will still be available but as someone who's studied photography I am disheartened by it. ):
Weird...I like my grilled cheese nice and black, but not my toast.
@raised_bywolves - I use my Nikon when I intend to take photos but I do adore spur of the moment phone pix
I just burned my toast, but it was an accident. Give Mildoo a hug for me! I'm gonna eat oatmeal for breakfast and think of you two.
My mom was very sensitive about negative comments concerning food she fixed. Once, when she burnt our toast my little sister said, "I like good black." That saying has remained our favorite to this day.
your phones camera is awesome and your life appears that way as well.
My daily pictures would be blurry and filled with void.
Me too! And I especially love this photo. It's a little slice of your day!
The stuff you are writing blows out my mind.
