Visiting Old MacDonald's Farm
I took my niece and nephews (the twins and their little brother) to visit Elmer after school.
The little one said "Is THIS 'Old MacDonald' ?"
Like "Finally, I get to meet him after singing about him all these years.""With a moo-moo here and a moo-moo there"
Elmer grew test corn for Hubner
Some of the Hubner corn is lined up in front of the old milk house
Elmer showed us two of the Grand Champion ribbons he won at the fair this year, does he look 94?
He let the kids get on the tractor and work the front end loader

Elmer is just amazing! Bet the kids had a ball.
I look 94...he sure as hell doesn't!
Fabulous stone building!!!
Great pic of my girl and the boys!
Looks like 94 is the new 80! How great for the kids to meet "Old MacDonald"! I love the tree-lopper shot --
Wow... I would have guessed he was in his mid 80-s at most.
I love that he can get around to show off his farm at 94!!! so precious!!
Mornin Glorie....Farm Living is very good for Elmer - does he milk the goats?
There is no way Elmer looks 94. What a treasure to be able to share with the kids.
: )
that looks like a far more relaxing farm than my fathers is
Thanks, Beth. I may just have realized why I'm so crazy in my garden to label all the 'experiments' and out-of-season crop tests. It's from seeing those rows of seed-corn signs on the farm next door.. Was jealous as a child of the lucky ones who actually got to learn something new and ground-breaking every year.
And not to accelerate your aging God forbid, but I can see you in 50-60 years as a worthy 'Elmer', with your huge heart and tons of what to show and tell.
Amazing! He's 94, looks that good and is still up and going strong! That's awesome! Love the pics. Thank you for sharing!
94?!?! Amazing. He's got some good genes.
How did you know I have been doing farm animals & "Old McDonald" in my little kids classes?!? Looks like a fun field trip!!
I hope I can look that great at 94!! Actually, I hope I will live that long...
Lovely photos Beth!
I think I need some farm-visit therapy.
Love it! I love farms Always have, always will.
wonderful!
I thought my mom looked good for 94, but Elmer is amazing. He looks great!
very nice
looks like fun! and he looks better than me!
What a treasure! Your niece and nephew are ever lucky to have Aunt Beth, and Old Mc Donald!
Fun and photos!! Elmer looks quite spry for an old farmer - though I doubt he is as old as MacDonald!
What a fantastic and fun visit! I can scarcely believe that Elmer is in his 90s. Reminds me of when I took my nieces to a far a year or two ago to pick up some meats I had ordered. Didn't spend too much time poking around as it was cold out, but they were definitely a bit shocked as city girls.
farm living is the life fer me.
You plan the coolest field trips~
Wow, Beth. I realized who "Old MacDonald" is!!! Great pictures. My grandfather amazes me every time I see him. I sure hope that I get the genes from THAT side of the family. My dad's family doesn't fair quite so well. Grandpa is GREAT for 94!!! Looks like you got the grand tour of the farm .
