What I do Here
Sometimes people message me and they let me know that I hurt them
when I do not visit their sites more.
I guess that is my biggest shortcoming on here.When I saw so much crap on Top Blog I though "We can do better than this!"
(The kind of things I am talking about were the drama and some nudity)
I made it my goal to promote good material for Top Blog.
I had to get on Top Blog and stay there to be seen
to have the visibility to work in the community.
I try to promote one and all in different ways here as much as I can.
Whether it's Monday Magazine ( I took a break from that) or Sunday shoutouts,
red hats or heart on your profile pic,
promoting your work (Xanga Market Place),updates on Xangans or photo theme posts.
Making links and commenting on the posts people put up for the color themes
is almost a full time job in itself.I continue to try to get good content on Top Blog with your help and we do!

I am sorry if I do not visit like I should or if I have hurt you by not commenting.
For the people who have messaged me about this, I try to be aware of them.
If you feel like I have rejected, ignored or forgotten you in any way
just know it was never intentional.
Let me know and I will try to do better.Thank you to all the folks who continually comment and rec and support my projects.

Very adult of you to admit your faults.
Some people don't or won't do it themselves for whatever reasons. I have many and am always first in line to admit them too. Continue to stay sweet! 
I unerstand you, that is my biggest fault too. I often read stuff secretly in my subs but don't comment because I'm afraid of nor finding the right words...so I just ignore it. It's also my biggest fault in real life...I never reply instantly (or any time soon) and people feel rejected. I lost a cosierable amount of friends that way.

I really like you color themes
Cut Seedsower some slack. She's one woman and cannot possibly be everywhere all the time. My grandmother used to have a saying, you have to write mail to receive it. Let's up date it for the present day, you have to read and recommend posts to have the same happen to you. Lets all get out there and emmulate Beth and maybe we will all become better people for it.
As I told ya earlier, being in a glass house kind of limits my ability to throw stones. I am scheduling Sunday morning as the time to visit all my subs.

You have so much more patience than I. If I got whiny messages like that, I'd probably just delete them.
Keep on doing what you do! It's OK. I love ya no matter what. You don't have to come over and comment on me or respond to my comments if you're busy doing something else.
I'm sure I don't have even a tiny portion of the subs you do, and it's hard to keep up with them all. You do a great job of making this a community, and that's a full time job in and of itself!
Methinks we are all grown ups here. Sure we like to get comments, sure we enjoy hearing from others but to take it personal when we do not garner dozens of comments is rather sad You do so much to encourage good will and fun things you owe no one any explanation but it is so sweet of you to do so. BTW I received a card today that you designed and made! It is lovely! Guess who sent it?

I think it's ridiculous that people are getting butthurt about you not commenting. But that's just my opinion, much like that of @saintvi . You are a better person than me but that goes without saying.
forgive the cynical Saturday rant: i cannot believe people are "hurt" because YOU do not pay attention to them ... [waaaa] ... can they not recognize (see) the tremendous effort (translates into time) you put in to creating a quality community? or are they too freekin' blind [selfish] ... I don't see how not visiting someone's blog is any kind of a fault. It's not like you owe it to anyone, really, and you probably have a tremendously long subs list.
I appreciate all you do to make Xanga a great place.

@Roadkill_Spatula - Thanks Tim. There seems to be an unwritten rule about returning comments even replying to each one on your blog. I was here way before the reply feature and I never started that but I did used to return every comment with a visit to the persons site and I just cant always do that now. I can promote the community or spend all my time commenting but I can not do both. and I feel guilty about that.
I don't understand "better" community. Like there's better or worse people on here? to me it's just "different" content...
I would guess those that complain don't realize you have a business to run, a home to keep, a Mom and husband (and let us not forget Cider) to...to...well whatever you do to them (
). Beth, people who know you and love you don't give a hoot if you comment or not. We know you love us~leaving a comment every time is not necessary. Good thing I don't depend on those to make me happy because I'd be one sad Mama! LOL I enjoy and stay here at Xanga in large part because of you. And that's the truth. Tell them other folks to put on their big girl pants and grow up!!
@seedsower - So you are implying that those gals are not grown ups? LOL Should we get score cards and keep track of who commented and how often? LOL I'd rather just enjoy Xanga...but then again I didn't see any recent comments from you on my site and I am so hurt LOL
@Lucy_or_Ethel - No ,I was answering your "Guess who sent the card" question. I sent ones I made to each of them so it could have been anyone of them who sent you a card!
@NightlyDreams - Well some of the things I saw when I started this were Porn and trolling sites. For example THIS was on the front page back then. I love all blogging styles and do not judge people or think my content is better, but when I promote someone and they promote someone and we work together to bring good things to the front page that is a better community, I think it is always better when people work together.
@seedsower - Sorry I thought you were teasing them! My attention span is not much better than a fruit fly has and had forgotten what I had written LOL Yes Denise it 'twas. A stunning shot of a white barn with lovely green trees behind it and the white clouds against the blue sky. Very lovely. Sorry for the mix up.....I am hard to understand since i live in my own little world most of the time LOL
@seedsower - I do remember some porn sites. I don't remember troll sites but if it wasn't something I was interested in then I didn't fallow or comment.

That was very dignified of you to explain to clear the air. One reason that I stopped going to your blogs was for the reason of very little reciprocity from you. I guess you do keep yourself busy to the point where you can't possibly be attentive to everyone on here. Thank you for clarifying.
Aww...I used to only follow about three different blogs when I first got started on Xanga. It was easy to keep up with only three people. But now, I read almost 50, not every day and I don't comment on every one. It doesn't mean that I don't care about them, it just means I don't have the time to spend on each and every one every single day. I do try and catch up on what I miss but sometimes, its just about 6 or 7 pages of things on my feed that I just give up and resolve to keep a better watch on things. I'm glad that you do take the time to post wonderful and positive things on Xanga, it's a nice break from all the drama
I really do enjoy reading and looking at your pictures, they are something I look forward to seeing at the end of my crazy busy day. Thank you for being awesome :hugs:

You just can't visit everybody all the time. You have nearly 1700 friends on here! I'm sure it's hard to keep up with everyone. In the meantime keep doing what you do best which is posting good wholesome and entertaining entries that make it to top blogs.
See, the thing about popularity is that there are so many more expectations than for obscurity. It's fun, but it's more stressful, too. Good luck.
Hey sweet lady you are just fine the way you are. If people do not understand then they can move on. You make Xanga a better place just by being here and I love the photo challenges you keep us on our toes with and the Sunday Shout Outs. I know that takes a lot of time and energy and thank you for taking the time to do that.

I am always delighted when you stop by, and I am not offended if you don't get around to responding to my comments. I think it's very curious that people would go after you this way, considering you are one of the most interactive top bloggers on Xanga. Unfortunately, when you go above and beyond the call of duty, people begin to expect that all the time, instead of recognizing it for what it is... generosity.
It's a little rude to send someone a message saying "You don't pay enough attention to me!" You run several different projects here, you undoubtedly have an insane sub list, and you run a busy greenhouse, and you have a family that enjoys your company, as well. There simply aren't enough hours in the day for you to visit and comment on everybody. Instead of complaining that you're not visiting their page enough, they should be elated when you do find the time to stop by. I know I always am.
Seedsower, I am appalled that people criticized you for not visiting and reccing their sites enough.Really? Aren't we all grown ups? You have NOTHING to apologize for. Thank you for working so hard to promote more content here that is uplifting and creative. Your ideas and examples have fostered a sense of community and I absolutely love looking at the world through your eyes and the eyes of other incredible people here. Some people are never happy and will make up any reason to complain. That is not your problem, it is theirs.
Allow me to apologize for the Xangans that chose to behave badly. You deserve an exponential amount of love and smiles for all of the smiles you have given to others.
I want to add that your posts are original, genuine, and heart felt.
to be honest, i've come to the conclusion that most of what i write is not worth reading. i enjoy when people read and comment, but with one exception, i'm not really hurt when they don't. even with that exception, i'm not sure hurt is the right word, but that is someone that i want to impress and inspire, so while i enjoy input from everyone, there's only really one or two people i look forward to hearing from and one that i hope to hear from. i think unless you have a friendship with these people their expectations are just too high.

I don't know how you manage to find time to blog regularly especially with your busy schedule. I like how you try to encourage the sense of community here and to make this a better blogging site.
Um. Beth, I always love it when you come to my site. But if you don't? Well, that's because I didn't write something that made you go "oh!" and click on the title to my post. Haha. I love coming to your site, even though I just lurk most of the time. And I love it because you are so kind, and peaceful, and loving and coming to your site just...relaxes me.

Beth also has an extremely large family and extended family (cousins, nieces and nephews) she stays in touch with. She even calls her uncle in California and he's a real Jerk. She's been an excellent comunicater since she learned to talk, maybe even before.
@seedsower - Where are the rules written for reading and commenting? What do people expect? I didn't know people expected a comment, I just thought somebody would comment if they had something to say back.
I cannot even imagine the amount of traffic you get on your site, there would be no way to reciprocate everyone's comments.
You have one of the most loving heart's here on xanga, you have a desire to connect, but I know there is no way possible for you to connect with everyone's posts. Even if you spent 12 hours a day, still don't think it could be done.
I hope those who are hurt, will come to understand your true heart for us.

lol. i'd imagine that reading and commenting on all the sites you are subbed (and have subbed you) would be a full time job, complete with regular overtime.
some people need to walk in other's shoes for awhile. sheesh.
i think the content could TOTALLY be improved here, and i appreciate that you are making a conscious effort to change it. that's worth SOOO much more than leaving comments on every blog you read!!!

Just keep doing your thing here, My Sweet! I'm learning the hard way...if you let what everyone thinks, feels, and says get to you, you'll go bonkers. I've even had people here tell me how I should and shouldn't feel...how I should do Xanga...Egads! Help!
