Beth I am enjoying these posts so very much I have not taken the time to post my own, possibly I will be "a day late and dollar short"with this as in most of my other endevers LOL I love b/w photos, yours are so stunning! You have such a good eye for great shots. you will see my footprints repeatedly as I go back and forth looking them over several times.

Beautiful. Beautiful. Beautiful! I feel like I went on a small vacation!
So many of my favorites in this group! My post will be up in a few minutes.
Glorious black and white, indeed! 'Follow me' cracks me up, that kid is just too dang cute!
You are beyond talented and inspiring. You are teaching all who bother to look, how to see things in a whole new light.
Gorgeous, Beth. I can hear faint cackling coming from the insane asylum.
It's really awesome you can trace your history back to the civil war era.
@RulerofMasons - I can go back to the 1600.
I joined in, my post is up
These are wonderful, Beth -- a nice cross-section of your people, your landsapes, and a total way of life. I love your eye!
Beautiful!
Beautiful. Some of my favorites of yours are in here.
Mine is up.
My eyes are leaking. Your pictures are so poignant. Every one. I've learned so much from just looking at your photos. Your photos are like music to my eyes.
beautiful, Beth. as always. composition and perspective on all of them, I really like.

as much as I like all of these, the ones with people in them are my favorites. the hands (and several others) brought tears to my eyes. a beautiful day in black and white. thank you!
HUGS!
@AdamsWomanFell - I was just thinking about that, how I love photos of things and colors and curves but it is the people that I really like to capture the most.
Beautiful.
Your work reminds me a lot of Elliott Erwitt. I'm always delighted. You take particularly great portraits.
good photos. particularly liked the texture of the wood in the one with the girl reading and the cemeteries.
lovely!
Ida's hands will always be a favorite of mine. Also love the Sunday outing. Shoot, I love them all, you know it!!
So pretty
I'm going to try this...but mine is not as fancy since it's hard to get out with my kiddos.
You can put me on that list too. :)
Beautiful B&W pics! I have never taken a B&W pic, nor converted one. So all my subjects were already B&W
Mine is up, so don't forget to add me!! I ran out of photo capacity though until I have enough creds for premium
I got a cute little white baby dress for a dollar today at a yard sale and I will have to get a photo of the sun shining through it ,too but I'm out of photos till the first of June on my xanga
oh wow, I LOVED the one in front of the old asylum and the sun peaking thru the trees and the old gate in the middle of no where and at Duke, your pics are always so pretty
If I keep trying, one day I'll be half as good as you! I love your pictures.
@Jewelbeetle - Thank you. I liked your photos,I take a lot of pics and get better as I go,I learn more what I like to see in the lens
I really love the roadies and the bus isle!

It's amazing how many photos you've taken in this life time. And they're all wonderful.
The chorus to this song - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aIrCFrFpHvw - just popped into my head as I looked at your pics

@LoBornlytesThoughtPalace - Do you mean The Train Passenger Car? I liked that one too. The symmetry really appealed to me.
I liked the happy drain too! The face reminded me of mr. bill.
nice pic
I love these pictures. I so want to live where you live even if it is just for a little while. The country is beautiful and I am so jealous of the weather.
So many that I remember and loved - and now get to love them again! The one with the same gesture - the best one of the bunch - at least in my mind...
these make me smile.
Nice! I really like the detail and composition of the hands pic. Also really like the barn and dramatic sky and the silverware photos.
@ItsWhatEyeKnow - Thank you Lena!
I love me some Tina Turner with her legs up to her ears!
The Penn Oak Tree. I am so touched by these photos. Thank you for sharing!
i love them all. great work!
Something about black and white really gives photos their own sort of life...
The stone angel freaked me out, stone angels scare me. I would love to have that old Chevy truck, though. Love the pictures
these are so good
I'm really enjoying these color posts! I join in in my own unique way if I have the time to take pics. Thanks for the ideas!
Black and white pictures recals necesarily the ancient system with argentic film before the years 60's . They have a high artistic quality and always are impressing perhaps because they are loaded of memories .
Have a great week end ,Beth

This is so pretty C:
I was out of town when you put up this post. I am so impressed with this set of pictures I just had to do a belated comment. Black and white pictures are not my specialty. Whenever I start messing around with them they just look flat... but your pictures... wow. They jump off the screen. Your black and whites manage to convey depth and mood in a way that color photos sometimes lack. You have inspired me to try them again
Great job Beth! ~April
@inanorchard - Thank you! Adjust the contrast a bit ,that takes out that flatness , I think.
To my awareness all things you pronounce may be cool

This can't succeed as a matter of fact, that is exactly what I believe.
