I Made a Little Purse
I cut off a too short pair of jeans to make Bermuda shorts for my niece.
They had flowers embroidered on them so she wanted to use them to make something.
She also had a pretty dress to cut up that her dog chewed on and could not be salvaged.
She got the idea to make a purse out of the denim and line it with the dress fabric.
She designed it and I sewed it for her yesterday.
We recycled AND made the cutest purse for free, a win/win project.

you are so creative ... inventive ... and selfless! cute cute little purse! a friend who is a wizard seamstress took smaller size levis, cut off the legs, and made purses (with straps, lining, and inside pockets)... i just love them!!
That is beyond cute! I am going to look for some cute jeans at yard sales and make a few of those for sale.
@perelandra30 - The possibilities are endless,I used a button but velcro or a zipper a hook instead of a handle...

That is gorgeous. I am attempting the same kind of thing but for my youngest son. He had jeans with the knees blown out so bad that we decided to just make them cut offs. For some reason I find it hard just tossing the bottoms away. He wants a coin pouch. I'm thinking red or blue bandanna fabric for the inside now that I've seen yours with the lining.

I had cut squares from all my children's old jeans and was making them all photo quilts~ and then the tornado.

Awww that's so cute. I have an old pair of jeans that don't fit anymore and has a hole in it that I've been wanting to make into something, but my sewing machine doesn't work with denim very well.
