If you know of good posts to add, message me the links and I will add them.
I NEED YOUR HELP!
I can not find all the good stuff on my own.
I think it could be fun.
I enjoy bringing the community together
Shoutouts are also a way of bringing us together.
This is my contribution to the community, it is how I best work.
I do comment all over Xanga but
I know that I do not comment everyone as often as I want to.
I have lost friends because of it, I have been unsubbed and defriended
because I do not get to their sites like they want me to.
For that I am truly sorry.
There is a lot of talk about how to get on top blog and all kinds of answers.
Sex, boobs, slamming Dan, writing about Xanga...
that works but it is not anything I have done
(well maybe boobs a time or two...see the posts HERE)
I avoid drama if I can,
I would much rather encourage and build up than tear down.
I want to be there if you need a friend.
You have surly been there for me.
Soon after I started blogging I realized
that what people commented on the most and enjoyed was...
this everyday rural life.
Gardening
canning,

fields
and flowers,

old stone barns
mills and covered bridges
springhouses
the creek
Ida

the sunrise

and the dew on a foggy morning.

You have wanted to see a piece of America that is vanishing in a single lifetime.
Family dinners and tire swings, how to harvest soybeans or make applesauce.
I have shared my family and friends, personal journeys and road trips.
I have met 97 of you in person.
I will admit that I post for others as much as myself .
I like your comments and feedback but I like to present you with beauty.
I like to make you smile, I like to brighten your day.
I love that Xanga provides me with the opportunity to give and receive.
I try to be responsible with the time you give me from your daily life,
it is a treasure and I see that,
thank you for allowing me to be a part of your life.

This made me smile, Beth... you're very sweet. I know many of us on here appreciate you, me included. Thanks for such a beautiful post.
It is awesome that you are up to 97 people that you have met on xanga.
It is always a great pleasure to read your posts. We are as thankful for your time as you are ours.
You do an excellent job and I am very grateful to have met you, even if it is only "virtually...!"
What a great idea!
A lovely post from a lovely xangan =]
I understand about losing friends BECAUSE you have so many friends =[
I think this is a lovely idea.
I think you totally rock Beth!!
I love your bright happy posts which reflect love for family and friends! I love seeing homemade, recipe's, history, nature... Keep up the good work.
I would love for you to drop in more but please know that the number of times you drop by or don't drop by doesn't rob me from enjoying your posts. Know that you are always welcome to drop in and released of the pressure of thinking you have to.

The photo of the sunrise is especially breathtaking!
Cool Idea Beth,I just can't seem to get into Xanga anymore though.Maybe I will someday.
This is a great idea. You seem like a very nice person. I It is sad that the simple ways of living are quickly being forgotten in my own generation---I try to rekindle and embrace the homestead ways of life when I spend time with my grandparents on their seventy acre farm and hear their stories and participate in traditional ways of life like gardening, cooking, canning, ect
.
Heh, you edited this while I was leaving my note before. It ate my note. Sigh. I think it said: I love you Beth, you are the bestest. And I agree about not having to do any of that well rutted stuff to get on top blogs. All you have to do is connect with people. And I love what you give for people to connect over.
MUAH.
Great idea Beth...
cool beans. : )
Yowza, 97 people! I've met one. After seven years.
I love my Bessie Boo Boo
@MomGoneMadd - I love my Miss Shann too!
I love this idea, Beth -- and hopefully I'll soon be among the number of Xangans you've met! I always look for your posts -- they are very beautiful, bringing out the joy in your view of the world as you show us the joy in others. Thanks for doing this to bring the community together!
slammin dan is always great
and I'm so glad I've met you. I think this is a great way-our own personal little xanga newspaper! I'm in!
Beth, you are a beautiful soul and Xanga is blessed to have you around!
Xanga would not be the same without you, Beth. 97 Xangans - that's amazing! I've met far fewer, but they are all real - as opposed to "people not from real life", right?
Kathi
I so love this! ^^
those canned pickles reminded me of all the things my mom grew and canned when she was alive
I love how you know the exact number of ppl you've met
. What you do is extraordinary
great idea .............. I will want to read and contribute (if I have anything worth sharing)
I love your slice of America and as a teacher I see it slipping away everyday. But then again maybe every generation has felt the simple life slip away during their lifetime.
Thank you for being you. I like your attitude and your blogs!
I am not really interested in the sensationalism required to get top blog and rarely read blogs like that.
If I want sensationalism, I can watch television. hahahahaha
I think the Monday magazine is a great idea. If I run across anything, I'll forward it along to you.
So this is effectively like "recommended posts?"
OH, how I love you, Beth! Thank you very much!
I always look forward to your photos!
Unsubbing you, would be like digging out part of my heart and throwing it onto the ground. You pump life into all of us~
I look forward to participating in this community magazine!
This is a nice positive thing for the Xanga community
I think it a great idea. I'm not to active here now but I love reading and commenting. I remember first reading your blog and thinking this is a person I would love to meet. It seems we would be instant friends. I think you have that impact on so many people. You even have inspirted me to be more interactive.....maybe?
Wow, 97 people eh? I personally really enjoy your photography but I've been known to post a couple pictures here and there. I think its tough to judge your own work but maybe I will link you later so you can have a look for yourself!
You have touched so many in ways that you will never know. You are a gem that Xanga will never appreciate.
Here's to innovation...you are getting very entrepreneurial Beth and I am liking it...it is making think that I have been going about my xanga criticism all wrong...
Thanks for blessing us with your kind words and beautiful pics
I like this idea. Stopped even going to Xanga front page to look for good articles. wil definitely send some links through as I find them.
I LOVE those pics! They are some of the best I've ever seen on your site. The sunrise especially.
I love your idea of the Monday magazine. You come up with the best ways of making this place even more of a community than it already is! Thanks for including me in the first issue, it was an honor.
Thank you for being an encourager.
Your posts have been very enlightening and entertaining. I love "meeting" your friends and broadening my Xanga horizons.
Love, love the picture of grandpa in the garden!!
.
You are a treasure, Beth! I think the Monday magazine is an awesome idea! I love that you do the Shoutouts and and encourage and support people. My favorite posts are not the controversial ones either....I like seeing people's talents in writing and photography, and hearing about their every day life.
I like this idea. I haven't figured out what people want.... I don't know what I want and I always feel like blogging is more of my act of expression rather than from the reader's perspective... I suppose that is the discipline (as a "writer") that I am lacking....
You are always a ray of sunshine, Beth, and I love the things you share with us all! Keep it coming!
Wonderful idea! I love all the photos you included with this post. Peace
Anyone who would defriend you is sorely lacking brain cells.
Love you Beth.
Beth, you are the one in the family who tries to get us all together and help us get along, too
i love that you post about beauty... and show off things forgotten. i really enjoy reading your posts.
This is a neat idea and a way to see more of xanga!
You are more than welcome to link my "Friday Funnies"
@xThexGodfatherx - Thanks!
wow, it's amazing how many people you've met from Xanga. I didn't realize how close the Xanga bond could be. I will definitely be searching the site for worthy submissions.
Dear Beth,
Your photos always attracted me to your blog. That, and the fact that since I only "return comments" like a letter or correspondence exchange, instead of reading "sub lists" or "top blogs" which I can't make the time for, I've always loved your personality and friendliness.
As you say, it's a part of Americana which is disappearing, and as a long time "city mouse" I really love the exposure to this type of life, which reminds me of the stories my late mother used to tell us when we were kids about life "down on the farm".
You're a true Xanga treasure, and a good friend. I feel quite saddened that people have "unsubbed" you etc. (I don't pay attention to "lists")
I am very encouraged by the fact that you constantly make "top blogs" with your "regular" entries. I can do it too, but I have to stoop to "writing about Xanga" but heck, I blog here, so why not write a Xangacentric entry once and a while, eh?
Keep doing what you've been doing. I'm glad there are "down home gals" like you on Xanga, and if you ever get out here on the west coast, I'd LOVE to have a "meet up" with you. I just don't have the money to travel, and rarely make it out of my beloved Los Angeles area!

(Thanks again for visiting my blog, leaving a comment on my Sept. 26th, entry, and mentioning me in your "Monday Xanga Magazine!")

Pickles and stone buildings work for me!
I know a number of Xangan's that NOBODY has discovered...amazing writers...I will link you a few by message.
Great idea!
You and your example of selfless love and encouragement and beauty is the ONLY thing that's kept Xanga a good place to be.
HUGS!
You do have a gift for weaving words and images to share a story, or a place, or a personality. Keep at it, honey. And don't ever worry about not commenting enough on my site... those who live in glass houses shouldn't be throwing stones; and I NEVER comment as much as I'd like to!
You give us so much here on your site from the beauty of your photography to shout outs and meets with other Xangans. This is one of my fav places to come and i hope you will continue being who you are and posting the way you do. This is a peaceful spot here on Xanga.
I'm certainly not a photography expert, but I think your photos have improved from very good to excellent in recent weeks. Professional grade, to be sure.
I don't get those who say "comment me or I'm unsubbing."
This is a great post. I also think that would be a great idea.
Sounds like fun.
Hi, just looking at your page brighten my day. It looks great! Thank you so much for your dedication to xanga. I wouldn't be able to send you links because I haven't been all over Xanga; until that day comes. (muahaha!
)
Like I said before, I love this idea!
I would never unfriend you. Your posts are great.
Thank you for the much needed smile. I have considered leaving a time or two. Politics --eh, there's so much that divides. But when I come here and to a few other blogs that warm my heart, I remember why I love Xanga. Thanks Beth for making our community a warmer, sweeter place to be
It is always a must read when I see your smiling profile photo! There is so much negativity in the world and I'm so glad that you bring a little laughter and beauty and common sense with your posts - always a good read!
You are a sweetheart, I'm so glad to know you, ma'am! I want to be person #100!
