There are quite a few orchards in this area.
Some in the valley

Apples are one thing that does not grow well in the LA basin. Apple trees (and cherry) like to have freezing weather once and a while. Oranges, yes – apples, no.
Fortunately, we can drive to places like Julian and around the San Berdoo mountains this time of year for apples.
