  • Aww..you look cute! Tehe..:)

  • Really?  The first time you ever coloured your hair?

  • wow I have colored my hair a million times already.. I think it looks good

  • @haloed - I am such a plain Jane,I do not own any make up,and I wear birkenstocks and have not worn stockings since 7th grade. I am like a milk maid!

  • it looks wonderful (: i really like your hair, it’s a good type of curly, if that makes sense, haha

  • @seedsower - don’t we all have birkenstocks? Lol.  They’re comfy!

I just am surprised because I’ve been dying my hair since I was 15.  Terrible, I know, but it’s like my little obsession, lol.  Well if you ever need advice about hair stuff you can come ask me!!

But so you know, being a plain Jane is pretty awesome :)

  • Think of it as “magic shampoo”

  • My whole head would be a brillo pad if I didn’t color those dang grays! I started graying early, so I’ve been coloring for years.

  • @haloed - I need a good hair program for dry hair, products that work to keep it from getting dry,I do not have a lot of hair anymore,it got thin after 1 1/2 years of Interferon that I was on for Hep C (I worked with recovering junkies and prostitutes, best job I ever had though! )

  • @seedsower - To be honest, I use pantene pro-v (you could get the one for curly hair, or maybe now it’s called “for frizzy hair” as curly hair tends to get frizzy in the humidity, I know, my hair is curly/wavy) and I get the shampoo and conditioner (not the 2-in-1)

So I wash my hair first in the shower, rinse, put conditioner in and massage it into the tips, focussing less on the roots.  I leave it in, do all my other stuff, washing, shaving, washing my face.  At the end of my shower, I wash it out.  So it’s had 5-10 minutes to condition my hair.

I find that pantene gives me the BEST results.  Super shiny, healthy, strong hair.  I’ve used herbal essences before, but I just don’t care for it or anything else for my hair, which is dyed almost every month

If you don’t wish to change shampoos (or if you’re already using it and somehow not getting amazing results) you can buy any brand’s smoothing lotion or leave-in conditioner lotion (not spray).  I find these give you great hair moisturizing and keeps it from looking dry as well.

I also am pretty whack and I deep condition my hair with an aveda deep conditioner every week/every 2 weeks.

  • @seedsower - and I use mousse when I get out of the shower on damp hair to scrunch my waves/curles up and it bonds them together so it’s less poofy/chaotic.

  • I don’t want to talk about grey and thinning hair. It’s depressing.

  • Looks great!  I am having to do the same thing….my hair is an in-between shade, kind of dark strawberry blonde, and when I try to go a darker red to cover the grey, it just doesn’t look good…if I go a lighter stawberry blonde, not super light, then when the greys come back they blend in a little more and just look blond, if I use my imagination.  Ha!

I was appalled last summer when I was doing my eyebrows and I found a single grey eyebrow hair!  Oh no!!!  This can’t be happening!

  • I touched up my gray for a few years.  Then I decided that I wanted my natural color back while I still had it.  Now I just live with the gray. Of course, at my age, I am supposed to have gray hair!

  • I started turning gray in my early 30s. My dad was prematurely gray and I guess I inherited it from him. That said, I have colored my hair since high school, just for fun. I wish I hadn’t started until I had really needed to. Hindsight, as they say… Good job! Your hair looks nice. =)

  • Drink lots of water and eat fish oil capsules.

  • You look cute as a button – no matter what!

  • and you’d have gotten away with it if you’d not tattled on yourself ;)   *there are some advantages to being blind ;0 )

  • I have always been too afraid to color my hair, I figure with my luck it would turn out green or orange….I am just as well off with my gray hair!

  • I’m like redlegsix — have never colored my hair!  It’s fine and thin and white now — and I like it that way!

  • You look adorable, Beth–but there’s nothing wrong with gray. By the time we get those gray hairs, we’ve usually earned them!

  • I dye my hair. I didn’t have a problem with my grays (I’m now 42), until I saw my dad, and realized I had as much gray as he did @ at 70.

  • Oh pretty! I can’t wait to see it in person!

  • the hair on my head turning gray wasn’t so depressing (as long as it stays on my head) I feel like I have earned all of them ……. what’s depressing is when the hair on other parts of my body started turning gray.

  • @Alive_in_Vegas - Ha! I don’t mind grays mixed in but it was just at my ears.

  • Nothing better than a little color here and there.

  • hey man I’ve been dying for ages I can’t tell if I have grey’s or not yet – all my other fiends around mid 20′s they have whites – so I’m bound to be next *sniff* Dye it and live young I say!!!!

  • Grey hairs are pretty, though! Hope you liked the results, anyway. :)

  • @Mangonese - If it were all over gray I would let it …but the rest of my hair is very dark the wirey grays by my ears looked funny. I do like it now better.

  • @seedsower - You could have always gone for the 50′s TV dad thing and cut your hair short and smoke a pipe! :D

  • @Mangonese - Haha,better than the 50′s tv mom! Running around like a nut with all that housework …in pearls!

  • @seedsower - yes, but what a very hawt milkmaid you are!

  • @seedsower - at least the hair isn’t growing out of your ears…yet…

  • @Aloysius_son - Now you know for real that I am only hot when I am in the sun. I am truly so far from hot otherwise….but thank you for always being kind.

  • Sheesh! All I noticed was that hot smile!

  • You look like you’re in your twenties! Way to go, Beth!

  • @jacksoncroons - That cellphone is kind to me!

  • Ahh yes I remember those days and not I just let it all hang out.  “chuckling”

  • I have seen people with streaks of white at the top of their heads, around the mouth and you are the first I’ve heard having gray around the ears.

  • I am probably overdue for a coloring job. Think that the last time I did it was before I moved up here, so about three years ago.

I don’t color it because of the silvers that are appearing in abundance. I just want the change. I usually got with a dark auburn or a lighter shade of brown.

Then I let it slowly grow out and I like the result of the different shading at the tips.

    Hugs’n'Smooches!

  • oh wow yer purdy………………

  • You look as cute as a bug!  Nothing wrong with slowing down the agng process and wanting to be beautiful!!! Good for you!!!

  • Oh Beth, I have been covering gray for at least 10 years now… I would go gray if it were up to me, but 13 ‘reminds’ me every time they get noticeable… I only do it every 3-4 months, as my hair style hides it for awhile,  As far as good conditioning, it ain’t cheap, but QVC carries a line called Ojon, and I love it, and it also makes my hair seem fuller… I don’t use the deep conditioner, since I still have oily hair, but the shampoo and regular conditioner are amazing for me!

  • Cute! and the perfect color.

  • @buddly47 - ha!  No worries.  You are distinguished looking.  :)

  • I think you are lovely, dahhling!  You are rocking that hair color!  lol

  • What is better to look at on this picture : the smile, the eyes or the hair ??? I wonder.

    Love

    Michel
