How Real Valentine Cookies are Decorated! Updated (Video)
Making the cookies
Then they decorated them...
and sang and sang the same song from Anastasia. over and over.
I loved that they sang but Lord knows, I do not ever need to hear that song again.

Getting to eat one
Soft Sour Cream Cookies
- Ingredients
- 3 cups sifted flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 cup butter
- 1-1/4 cups sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1 cup sour cream
Measure flour, salt, baking powder, and baking soda into a sifter.
Cream butter with sugar and blend well. Beat in eggs and vanilla.
Sift in flour mixture, adding alternately with sour cream;
blend well to make a thick batter.
Drop by rounded tablespoonfuls 4 inches apart on greased cookie sheets,
spread into 2-inch rounds, and sprinkle with cinnamon sugar.
Bake in hot oven at 400 degrees for 12 minutes or until lightly golden around edges.
Remove from sheets and cool completely on wire racks.

What I love best about Valentines Day is that it is ALL about the giving. We are now three generations of artists (The Babe is firm in her resolve at 3 1/2 that she WILL be an artist when she grows up) so every holiday is very "hands on" Last years cookie baking/decorating fest so impressed her that she had been talking of nothing else for weeks but baking and decorating Valentine cookies, so when the big day came (Thursday) she was in her glory. And so was I.
I LOVE these pics and can't wait to share them with my G-Babe.
