Sunday Shoutout: Jacksoncroons
This week's Sunday Shoutout is Jacksoncroons.
I like her style ,honesty and writing.
I decided to ask her a few questions to get to know her better.1.why did you pick youra)user name?
Actually, my name is Jackson and I sing terribly. The idea of my crooning was absurd enough to seem perfect, considering some of the stuff I post.
b)user pic
My picture is the character Cherry from the film "Planet Terror"
- part of the Grindhouse double feature.
She was a really badass zombie fighter and I think of her as my alter-ego.
2.What needs does blogging meet for you?
Blogging gives me a chance to connect with some amazing people,
discover and be inspired by an astounding degree of talent that spans
(at least with the people I subscribe to)
all the arts. It also allows me to try out different styles of writing . . .
I never wrote poetry before I came on Xanga!
3.Who are some of your favorite bloggers?
I love so many people here, so this is tough . . .
I love Bricker59, BianchiStreet, speraquodvereor, MoonCatBlue, Vignettery,
ZSA_MD, scrogers, peterjamesmanos, thomas_michael, Adventofreason . . .
I wish I could write as well as these guys and there are so many more
I can't even think of right now!
4.What is one of your favorite posts that you wrote?
I wrote a piece about my favorite chair on 7/31/08 called The Big Ass Chair
-I got 3 comments - but I really love that post. Maybe I repost it sometime.
5.Where did you grow up?
I grew up outside of Boston - the NorthShore
- that basically means I've got attitude, I talk funny and I love the ocean.
6.What are some of your interests?
Besides writing, I love glass art - stained glass, mosaics, and fused glass.
When work isn't sucking the life out of me, I sell pieces and do commission work.
I also love to paint. My latest hobby is learning to play pool.
7.Do you have a favorite Quote?
Favorite Quote:No matter where you go, there you are.
I first heard it in the movie Buckaroo Banzai, but it's actually from Confucius.
It's one of the few absolute truths I know of.
8.What are one or two rules that you try to live by?
Rule I live by: Everybody has a story - honor and respect it.
9.What do you dislike in a person?
I guess the thing I dislike most in a person is mean-spiritedness
- a need to just be miserable and make others miserable as well.
The world has enough things to bring us down . . .
we should treat each other better.
10.What do you most admire in a person?
I love a good sense of humor.
The ability to laugh at yourself and all the craziness around you
is one of the greatest gifts we humans have.
And the ability to make others laugh is a talent beyond compare.
She summed up 2009 on Xanga beautifully:
"I just want you all to know, this crazy brotherhood we call Xanga
is a place so close to my heart that I feel like I've connected to parts of myself
that were missing and scattered throughout the world.I wish you all the best . . . an entire year of the full goblet . . .
that's what my friends and I used to call the full experience of life
- the highs and lows and everything in between.
It's about being alive, and accepting frailty,
and celebrating the small victories that we work so hard to earn. You have all made 2009 one of the best years ever,
and I can't wait to travel 2010 with you all."I think that Jackson is amazing and
I am glad for the opportunity to get to know her.

This was a great interview. Jackson is one of my favorites here on xanga too. We have such a nice community.
@seedsower - I quickly deleted my comment so that you and other readers don't see something I wrote. Also at first I thought that Jacksoncroons was a lot younger than what she is now....
