  • Snow Geese

I saw some snow geese today,I love watching them land.
What do YOU think of when a huge flock of birds
    fly overhead at once ?
    Do you think of Hitchcock's
    The Birds?
Or do you think what I think...
"Man,I hope they don't all shit at once"?
While the geese were to far away to get a photo of,
I did get these shots...Winters Tree
    gold sky Sunset 1

Thanks Frank for the 'Snow Geese' pic.

  • Beautiful pictures!  (I love to be first commenter!)

  • Well, maybe you didn't get the snow geese, but the photos you got are magnificent.

  • Very nice pictures!  The clouds look so neat!

  • i did manage to get some snow gees pics the other day as i was driving home --pulled my truck over by a field that looked like hitchcock...have to post 'em for ya...

  • Beautiful........I think we watched the same sunrise.........I love geese, they were my Dads favorite birds.........I always think of him when I see them........hugs.

  • I think, "Wow! they are so beautiful!"

But I know from experience that snow geese are messy!!! Ew!!!

I've always loved ducks and geese!

    Amazing photos!!!

  • I think both of those things. I also wonder why do they sometimes fly in formation and other times just crowd on top of one another?

RYC: I love the idea of your husband reading to you. I wish mine would read books at all. But he does read the newspaper so maybe I should get him to read that to me.

  • ryc; Thank you so much, Beth! =]

  • LOL! Love the sun pics. Your thoughts made me remember that poem we learned in gradeschool..... Birdie, birdie in the sky, dropped some whitewash in my eye......

  • Birds flying overhead....  I think... better keep my mouth closed.

  • I like to see geese fly but not on the ground....there are too many of them in our area of PA and they are dirty creatures......
I do think of "the birds" when I see those swarms of little birds......

  • Geese................we have millions of those here around the lakes...and you bet....when I am on the lake and those suckers fly over I pray they miss me when they shit in flight.....I sit there and watch the water and all you see is these little bombs splashing all around....I learned to wear a hat for sure......Great pictures

  • I FREAK out when a flock of any type of bird flies over head.  One of my biggest fears is birds   I go into full panic attack mode, no joke.

The last 2 pics are gorgeous!  (the first one isn't showing up for some reason...)

  • my aunt lives in Cototi and that is a short drive from Bodago Bay where they filmed the Bird movie. We have the black crow things-crackles and they are weird cause they all sit on the power lines 2inches apart exactly near Walgreen's.

  • i had that happen yesterday (but they were pigeons) . . . i did feel like i was in the birds, though :)

  • I only saw one pic, but it was gorgeous!

::::::DUCK:::::::::  Now ya know where the phrase came from hehehe

  • Yup, I go for "gee, I hope they don't dump all over my car"!
    Pictures didn't paint . . .

  • brainfart!      I'm behind a firewall that won't let me see your pics . . . I'll catch up later tonight

  • Boo... sadly most of the images don't load for me... Darn my internet.

I really like the lensflare in your third shot, though (which happens to be the only shot that loads for me).

RYC: Haha, yeah... I ended up chickening out, though, and buying some oatmeal :-x

  • ahh - now they work for me.

the first one is magnificent, and the geese are really cool!

  • Gorgeous!  We will occassionaly get a lone snow goose or maybe two that will come and rest during their migration by the pond.  I've never seen a flock that size.  Wow.

  • I am always afraid the birds will poop on me too.

  • Geese do have a purpose for their flying formation.

I love the pictures!! I am not bothered by a huge flock of geese but I don't like those big groups of black colored birds, grackles or something else.  They DO remind me of the movie, The Birds!

  • geese....     I'm going to have to not comment on that topic because my mom always said if I can't say something nice, then to not say anything.   So there.

The clouds and sunsets are fantastic!

  • Great pics, as usual.  I think the best memory of birds flying overhead would be when I go hunting with my hubby in the wee hours of the morning in December.  Everything is so calm and quiet at 6am, that you can hear the wind streaming as they fly overhead.  Awesome!

  • what a pretty sunset :)

hope you are doing good sweetie!!!

  • Beautiful pictures.  I have never seen snowgeese.  Nice treat.

  • Those photos are amazing.  Thank you for sharing them.  I hope that you have a fantastic weekend.  Take care...

  • Ok, my eyebrows just unfurled . . . the pictures are breathtaking, Beth.
    And definitely . . . the Snow Geese . . . wouldn't want my car under that!  No Sir'ee!
    Have a beautiful weekend, m'darlin'.

  • HA! lol I DO think of the Birds evertime I see a big flock of birds. lol

I don't think the poop thing though. lol

Have a great weekend with the twins!

  • I heard some geese yesterday but I didn't see them....and do ya'll have those long ribbon lines of little black birds that just go on and on forever? when I see those I think where in the hell did all those birds come from :) ..have a great weekend!

  • Whenever Amish have church services in the barn they always have to be on the look out for pigeon poop less it drops on them.

  • Love the pictures.  They are beautiful...  There is a corner on my way home from work that is absolutely COVERED in birds.  Hundreds of them.  Always makes me think of that Hitchcock movie.  I always roll up my windows...

  • Aww Beth you are too kind to me. Why? You sense something good about me don't you?

Thanks so much for the love and your prayers.

I have been so busy with my future and I feel quite optimistic. That is the reason why I am scarce. I will share with you, one day, some stories about me.

I really like the way your Xanga Photo Strip looks with all of its beautiful pictures.

I love you Beth. Have a great weekend and thanks again for being you.

    Jennifer

  • Oh! Vanilla cake sounds great too - but the suit seems to be powered on chocolate! LOL!

  • I only see canadian geese and they don't fly...they just walk single file across the road very s l o w l y.

  • The pics of the birds are so incredible, I have never seen anything like it.

  • The Birds: Rod Taylor let his Aussie accent slip quite often.  The best place for a goose is on the Christmas table, minus head.  At least that's what they did in Sherlock Holmes stories and Charles Dickens novels.  I especially would like to wring the necks of Canada Geese which poop everywhere.  RYC: I got a credit in Man In Society, high school was such a breeze in the 1970's wasn't it?

  • Lovely Photos. I'm a photographer as well.

  • where my dad moved, the snow geese are there alot now, hes near the middlecreek land preserve area...I laugh and say no poop, no poop...I think that when I go to the Kmart area where the seagulls are right now too.....

  • I think of the movie too....I've watched it several times....I never really considered the pooping thing though....man, what a mess that would make!  Loved the pics!

  • beautiful, i lover the 1st one, thanks

  • Beautiful!  That third shot is what Youngest Daughter calls A Jesus Scene:)

  • When I see huge flocks of birds, I... well.  Hmm.  Let me cast my mind back to the last time I saw a huge flock of birds.  I think I went 'hmm.  Cool' and stood watching them for a while.

I like birds, but the individual ones are better.  Kings of the air, type thing.

  • Wow, those are great photos. I love the beams of light, but the first one is my favorite.

We have Canadian geese, snow geese and trumpeter swans that come though here, they sure are beautiful in flight.

  • I think of poor Tippi Hedren's hairdo....

  • HEY!!!!!!!  JUST COMING BY TO SAY HI!!!  LOVE YA!!!

  • That's a lot of geese.  I'm used to the chevron formation.

  • Yuk... and cool!
