  • One More Day!

The Glick Family has arrived for tonight's concert as a close to the Show.
    Glick Familyweb
We served them lunch. They sang for my 93 year old Mother in law,Ida .
She is not well enough to make it to the concert.
I have to tell you that I was so blessed.
They sang the most beautiful song acapella ,twelve voices is tight harmony,
it was really pretty . I saw tears roll down Idas face,
I know that she was touched and  then I felt it too.
They minister to prisoners and I am sure that they bless them as well.
I pray that they will touch people tonight who need a special touch this time of year.

It is the last day of the 'Poinsettia Show'.
We hope to have 2,000 more people thru here today.
We have had 4,700 between Fri and Sat.
I roasted a  30 lb slab of beef and sliced it thinly and made gravy  for Roast Beef Sandwiches for the lunch today. We have thirty some employees and helpers that we serve lunch to.
I need to go make horseradish sauce also. We have potato salad,
    Tortilla chips and homemade salsa
    apple sauce and homemade cookies.

    I was inspired by
Ang to make some photos into note cards to sell at the show.
I never even tried to sell a photo before so I was a little nervous but
I put out about 30 different shots and they sold! I had to make more.
    That was encouraging!!

  • Oh I know ... You've been too busy with your little flower show to stop by and help me pick out a Chritms tree.

It's ok though, I'm not bothered by it at all.

    *sniff*

  • RYC - Why are all the comments black on black?

Because I don't care what any of you humans say or think... Only what I say and think is of any importance.

  • Ehhhhh while I am here... I Tag you... and not because I care a tounges lick about what you are going to write... It's just the way the game is played...

  • I saw the cards there at the table and they were selling there....I purchased some cookie mix for the missions trip there and got 2 other ornaments for the tree, I also boughta crocheted sink rag, they are so much better made for the job then store bought, the glick family sang beautifully, enjoyed silent night there.....great job Beth to you and your workers, loved seeing the games and toys I played with growing up...wait did I grow u p? Wow, I bet you are totally worn out!  My mouth was watering, reading about the delicious lunch you made for the workers at the sale!  Horseradish, yum, and chips and salsa!  Wow, can I work at the sale next year?

    Kathi

  • You go, girl!!!

  • I'm glad the show went well!  Can't wait for more photos.

  • RYC (from 11-20): NaNoWriMo stands for National Novel Writing Month. I've participated in it for the past three years and (as of now) have successfully completed the last two. Not quite a game, per se, but definitely fun.

Even so, I gotta ask, what made you think game?

  • Ryc: I love it too! I hadn't seen that youtube, thank you!

  • Oh, and your photos are wonderful...keep them up!

  • I so wanted to go to your Christmas showing and forgot about it until it was too late.  I should have put the date on the calendar when I first saw it.  I'll get there next year.  Heard it was so beautiful.  Did you take the picture of the snowy trees at the top of your site?  It is such a beautiful picture.  Have most of my shopping done and most of the gifts are wrapped except for what I bought last night.  Only 3 weeks til Christmas.  It will be here before you know it.  We must get together sometime after the holidays.     Debbie

  • They are beautiful people.

  • You rock Tude's sister?!? Is that Spazzz or Thankee??! Which sister do you rock?!?

  • Thanks for the comment!
    Wow those are beautiful!

  • Miss you too, Beth!

  • Random props. Nice site. Great idea, making note cards out of photos.

  • Now that the Poinsettia Show is over, can you finally catch your breath?

  • Great idea to sell your pictures.  They are wonderful!

  • I had no idea that you weren't already making note cards.  You can probably make them cheaper at Kinkos than you can print them yourself.  Check it out to be sure.  Besides being less expensive, think of the time and trouble it would save you.

  • Is the Glick family a true family with parents and 10 children or nephews ? They are amazing .You speak of the success of your Poinsettia show . Bravo . You are rewarded of your work .
This makes me think it was my wife Janine ' s birthday last December 3 and of course she had gifts but I forgot the Poinsettias , her favorite plant . I am going to buy one . Not at your home , Beth , too far , unfortunatly .

    Love

    Michel

  • Your photos are beautiful. I am glad you made them into note cards and not surprised they did well.

    Heather

  • Oh, your sweet MIL!!! She is such a wonderful person! I can imagine how the beautiful singing touched her!! I always get teary-eyed hearing beautiful voices, especially since I can't sing worth a darn! MMMMM ... your homemade salsa and applesauce!! I am so sad that I missed the show this year. The Candyland display is amazing!  I was so impressed with the show last year, and I didn't think it was possible to top last year's, but I think you did!!

The notecards are beautiful and what a great idea!  And you were afraid that nobody would buy them!  Your photography is wonderful.  Who wouldn't want cards with these gorgeous pictures!

I hope you are recouperating from the festivities!  Alicia

  • How did the rest of your cards do?

  • I would love to go to that show. And taste your homemade salsa. I love homemade salsa... I just plain love salsa. Now I'm hungry!
