Candy Land Display
As most of you know our 'Poinsettia Show' is on Fri,Sat and Mon.
The reason that the show was started was to offer the public a chance to see
20,000 Poinsettias in several full greenhouses , is a beautiful sight.
Our theme is 'Toy Land'. Last year we had 6,500+ visitors in the three days!
It is a community event. We invite local musicians to preform during the show.We have people scheduled during the entire show.
In the room where they preform we serve fresh popped popcorn and punch .
We have 'Hands on tables' set up for the kids. There is a wreath contest, where we invite any local business to decorate a wreath, we provide a place for them to lay out brochures etc. We give out hotdogs too, with that homemade relish and kraut. We have several displays. There is a walkway of toys starting with ones from the early 1900's and ending with the present.
The grand finale of the show is 'The Candy Land Display' !! My niece Bets is so creative ,she designed and built the whole thing!!!

Your niece is truly talented!! That looks so wonderful, I sure wish I lived close enough to come and see all those beautiful flowers together. Please take LOTS of pictures to share with us.
I really, really wish I could come....but at least I can enjoy the photos..
Sounds like a wonderful event!!! Hope loads of visitors come. Pointsettieas...here are called Christmas Stars adn they are pretty expensive for the average person...Iove them because my grandmother always had them and this time of year they were usually on the steps of her attic as she tried to get them to turn red. I have one from last year in the spare room so it gets longer darkness. I bought one for my landlady who is very sweet to us and would never buy one for herself.
A room full of poinsettas is a pretty awesome site. I saw a nursery in Forest Hill La. like that once.
You have put in a lot of work here and it whows. God bless you and your husband!
I wish I could go!!!

Candy Land!!! Woo Hoo! When I wad a kid - my grandparents had the candy land game - so we got to play it at Christmas time when we visited and summer vacations! Great memories! I remember the colors being a bit more vibrant and less pastel though - but it is a nice artistic effect though - what happens with age!
I have not been sleeping enough!
They are changing so many things at work at once - phone system, email, customer management system, and on and on! Plus company meeting and insurance changes - its hard to get regular work done...
That is such a warm and cozy community event. It is the kind of thing that draws up both people and a sense of wholesomeness. Well done!!
