Today you are cordially invited to a Barbie Fashion Show. These are a sample of the clothing that I have made for the little girls over the years. All together Calico Dresses Evening Wear
I always bought homemade barbie outfits for my daughters barbies from a little lady I knew...those store bought ones are so flimsy & not made well for the price the ask for them...and the homemade ones are alot nicer too...
Have a great week!
Seessower you did a beautiful job on those outfits. Any little girl would want them.
Have a great day!
They are so BEAUTIFUL! I want clothes like those! Especially the garden party dress and the evening dress.
You do Barbie proud Beth!
OMG! They're great! I especially love the coat.
So reminiscent of the ones mom made for us when we used to play w/Barbies. Interesting to see tho, the cultural differences. Mom used to make'm w/poofy sleeves, and bright colors (more resemblance of my culture). Plus, it was back in tye 70's, fashions were different then too.
I know they're hard to make; mom always said Barbie clothing was harder to make because they're so small in scale. Even regular sized dolls were easier.
She taught my sistah and me how to sow on those snap closure thingies, she'd sow up the outfit and hand it to us to finish up w/the snap or button or the like.
I am really jealous! Just remember you have a 15 month old little 'niece' over here who will be playing Barbies very soon!
adorable!!! very talented tayloring! do any of these happen to come in a size 4 or 6? i'll take one of each:)
These are fabulous! You must start making clothes for the American Girl dolls! My youngest dd13 has been having a ball making blouse and skirt sets for her AG doll collection. And get this...Last week we made dd13 a blouse to match her doll's blouse. We used one of her blouses for size, and used the very simple doll pattern, it was great, no facing and it turned out very, very cute!
Enjoyed your designs!
Not sure why, but I just never got into Barbie at all. Now GI Joes, that's a whole 'nother story!!!
That is great. How come the homemade stuff isn't as slutty looking?
You do very nice work.
Very Nice!!!!!!!!!
Wow! Those are gorgeous! When I have kids, can I ship them off your way for a wknd in the summer?
Ok~~ I'm thinking I need me one of those red Garden Party dresses~~ with a cowgirl flair. Can ya add a little cowhide for trim~~ and matching cowhide shoes? I think I missed out~~ me and grandma used to make barbie clothes~~ out of toilet paper and tape. sigh. Poor little Tamy.
They are all ready for the catwalk. I love the coat. Nicely done!
My mom use to make all my clothes and my doll clothes. I didn't have store bought clothes for many years unless they came out of a bag of hand me downs. I never picked up the sewing talent from mom. I can knit and quilt. If I work at it I can crochet, but I never was good at it.
You have an awesome talent.
Beth,
Very nice outfits!! They must take a lot of time. How do you work with something so little??
Did it take you long to learn to sew them???
These are so nice and conservative. I like that, especially for little girls. I'd love to see your clothes in the stores instead of those Bratz things the girls are crazy about. Or are they still?? I'm not around children enough to know now! I love the ball gown especially. The material is so pretty.
This brought back memories! I used to make clothes for my girl's dolls, too. We also made stores for their Barbies from cardboard boxes. I made a bakery with little baked dough food items, and also a grocery store. Pretty soon we had a whole Barbie mall! LOL! I think we ended up with a gift ship, a candy shop, a post office, a furniture store, a fabric store and a church along with the other stores. When they played they had boxes all over the place, but it was cheap fun, really, and they were very creative. For one birthday, Hannah even had her friends bring their dolls and they were given Barbie money and went shopping at the Barbie mall!
Beth, You are a women of many talents. I think any Barbie would be lucky to wear these!
mom made me nightgowns and matching robes... i thought that was the coolest!!!!
have a great night sis!
Pretty, far better than the packaged deals.
Heather
That's a lot of doll dressing. Never had girls, so....
ryc: No, not at all universal, and Europe certainly has its immigrant issues, but of course, there's the difference that we're already multi-lingual, multi-ethnic, multi-religious, and there's the difference that we're "post-national" as well (or getting there - faster in smaller nations, more slowly in places like France and Germany), and there's the open borders within the EU, and, there's the traditional arrival of "colonials" and their acceptance. Lastly, there is a lack of deep concern with most national symbols. Sure, the French and Germans worry about the language, and the Scandinavians worry about religion being brought in, and the Brits worry (a bit) about "the traditions." But the US panics about the language, the flag, the religions, the work habits... many things at once.
Also, Europeans are quite comfortable with dual-citizenships. No one in Germany expects a Turk who becomes a German citizen to give up their Turkish passport. Heck, I'm a "tri-citizen." So, the whole issue resonates differently.
All that said - thanks for all you have done. I've watched Ireland go from a net exporter of people, 99.9% native born, to 10% foreign born, in just 15 years. I'm not saying it is always easy. But it is what we should be doing.
Now where were you when my Sherri was a little girl??? I never had the talent to do that... You did an awesome job!
Please do stop over some time if you're back in the area! Do you have my phone number?
You make clothes out of money and clothes for Barbie. YOU are awesome!
Precious!
Those are so nice and you are so talented.Glad to inspire you anytime.LOL
Awesome work girl, and I thought you were too old to play with dolls.............of course Andy BB61 has his own Barbie collection........now then if you could just make those dresses for adults imagine the trend you would have .........Have a great week........
Your very talented.
By the way I am behind on my commenting and wanted to say thanks for
coming to the pool party and living it up for me.
Your very sweet and a I loves ya too.
Sorry you had to go to a funeral this weekend..
Love the Barbie clothes...I used to make them for the girls. I even knitted some...that was a long time ago....You sure do a beautiful job on them. It looks like you put a lot of time into making each article of clothing. I imagine the little girls love them.
That brought back memories of the clothes my mom made for my barbie
I love the out fits! I never had dolls as a child, so I play with my grand daughters all the time LOL
If I were to even attempt to sew, needles would be piercing human flesh in short order. Plus I have the darndest time threading the needle. Truly I do. So I stay away from all things sewing. It's for the best and the good of society.
Neat Barbie clothes. I had lots of Barbie clothes but no hand made outfits.
Jeez, these are so nice! All of my '80s era Barbies came with outfits that I would label "skanktastic." Why did Barbies have such short skirts and high mid-riffs in those days? What were they trying to brainwash us into?!
Those are beautiful... my mom used to make gorgeous things like that for my Barbie and Tammy dolls...
Quite impressive!
That is really amazing and beautiful work. Great job, seedsower! =)
Those are absolutely amazing! I made stuff for my barbies out of scraps of material from my mother's sewing, but those ensembles were nothing like your creations! Great job!
Cute Clothes. I was totally into Barbie when I was a kid.
I hate Barbies.................they all look better than me.........LOL.....hugs
You must have the patience of Job ~
Yes! Fried chicken! Yum! Biscuits! Yum! I had health food chicken! It was OK...
Thanks for the praise... it's not easy unlearning how to not use credit cards but it's something I will have to learn to balance. I did not like my name growing up and Iszzy( they way I spell it) what I excepted. How ever it was a sub contentious plot I (in my mind) step away from my own name I felt... I like being called Israel... I think it's refreshing and only 2 people other then my family that call me Israel. well its late and tie for sleep.
I still have all the clothing that you made for my "American Girl" Josephina
I got really bored once and tried to do that... I had no idea where to start, though.
Well done.
ur friend of the day on Connie's page! those dolls are priceless.
Ithink those were great Beth....I had the crissy doll where you could cjange her hair length, that was my doll of choice..have a great day
Those are great! Very detailed! I used to make clothes for my barbies, but a skirt for example, was fabric cut into a rectangle with a snap sewed on in the corner!
You are number one for starred post this morning! Well done. I love the barbie clothes. Is that mostly hand stitching. I have found it hard to get as nice a fit as you made here.
What beautiful Barbie clothes. I never liked sewing them the pieces were so small and hard to work with. Used to knit a lot of them for my girls when they had the dolls. Don't know where all those ended up, passed on to grandkids methinks. You lady have more talent in one little finger than I have in my entire being. Have a great day. Hugs
wow, great work. I remember how much I used to love dressing my Barbie dolls... and now there's clothes by independent designers... very cool!
beautiful job on the outfits, brings back memories of some that we made. You have an awesome layout!
Brings back memories of some clothes that we made, you've done a beautiful job. I love the layout.
cool stuff
how cute!!! I don't know if I have the patience to make little clothing like that! But it's all very cute!
I love the coat and the ball gown is awesome! I always wanted to make clothes for my barbies when I was growing up! The only problem was I didn't know how to sew heheh ryc: Your right it is good reading weather Good romance novel with a glass of iced tea listening to the storm in the background is perfect
ryc: do a search for bb's grocery outlet for the correct addys, but there is one in quarryville, newburg (where I go) and Schaefferstown (sp?)...it's definitely worth a little drive!
We are near gettysburg...my husband grew up outside of philly in Wallingford. My in-laws are still there.
How cool is that ?.....pretty darn cool. Barbie has never looked so good as she does in your clothes. Will you be my Aunt too?.....lol.
WOW You are sooooo talented! *hugs*
What beautiful dresses. Have a great day!
I love the garden party dress! If only I had those curves and that dress! hehehe
Hi ^^
Those are really impressive!!
If I still played with Barnies, I'd totally want them! Nice JOb!
aw they are cute. I want them and I ditched barbies years ago.
Wow, you are talented. Thanks for sharing them with us.
I love them. I still have my barbie dolls from when I was a child. I would have loved to have had those when I was a girl. Very nice work.
Fancy duds those girls are wearing! My girls just got rid of a bunch of Barbie stuff, including a few dresses my mom had made for my Barbies. That was a little sad, but... hey, the space is more important to me right now!!
ryc - It was Green Giant White Shoepeg Corn. I've never been a fan of regular corn in a can, but the white corns are usually sweeter. It still won't be as good as fresh, though!!
Thank you, friend, for your kind words and prayers. It meant the world to me at a time when it seemed to be ending. You sowed the seeds of hope into my despair. I am so grateful.
Old Hat
Very chic and creative!! My mom made our Barbie's clothes too, but on a much smaller simpler scale.
What she did best was designed little shops. We even had a church where she put in stained glass windows and pew with carpet and a little pulpit and even hymn books. My dad gave me an old wedding script and I had many a wedding for my sister and my dolls. I even played my mom's tracks for singing in church as the special music.
Such fun!
Holy wow...is there anything you can't do? You are amazing, sweetie.
Hugs, L
Great job on the clothes... they are very professional..
I have a collection of Barbie's... when my daughter was little, she had her own little collection and would get them out to play with them.. when she was finished, I would go in and make sure they all had their clothes on and combed their hair so it wouldn't get all ratty lookin' or tangled.. ha! Kinda obsessive.. ha!
I have a lot of my barbies still in the box they came in.. mint condition!
Have a great day!
Neat looking Barbie clothes! I didn't sew any Barbie clothes for my girls dolls, but I did crochet some (which we still have for the grandaughters to play with.)
Those are adorable!! You have a real talent for that.
I think I read somewhere you are making... SALSA?! hint hint.
My grandma used to make me homemade barbie clothes. Now I have to buy them.
i always killed my sister's barbies.
How cute, Beth! You need to have the Barbie that is in a wheelchair all dressed up and pretty..my sister used to crack me up with her wheelchair Barbie. It was so cute and this just totally reminded me of her fashion shows that she used to have, too. My daughter...was never into Barbies. Tomboy.
You really do do it all, don't you? I don't know how!!
Every year for Christmas my Grammy gave me a card and a check, except for one year, when I was about 12, when she gave me a check AND a hand-knitted, on tiny little needles, long red Barbie sweater coat with buttons! I didn't play with Barbies anymore, but I kept that coat for a long, long time. I just like to look at it, plus the fact that it was a real gift from my Grammy.
Pretty dresses!
Interesting...I have never seen anything like this before...but very cool. I can't sew anything. But I guess thats part of being born in the late 80's lol. I am part of the lazy generation that doesn't know how to do anything useful lol. j/k
those are cool
I think they are lovely.............I like them....
I think you should try hard...........................BUT they are lovely
Good luck..........See u again
My Mom used to knit me Barbie clothes when I was young.
Very nice work... Lucky Girls!
Barbie from my childhood
those are awesome!
I lost my comment...anyway, those are very cool. I used to make barbie clothes too (it's where I learned to swear-all those tiny stitches!). you missed your calling beth!
These are great! I would have loved to have had these when I was still playing with my Barbies, most of which wound up naked and needing new clothes.
what great memories you reminded me of! beautifully done!
Wow, they are really good. You've got a geat talent there. They must have took a while do it. The ball gown is stunning; i'd be happy to wear it myself.
those are charming. I tried making clothes for my barbie but I just couldnt!
They're all lovely, but that ball gown rocks. You're very talented!
Intricate work, very nice! No real girl could ever resist this blog title.
wow this is amazing.
Very nice. I like the Calico Dresses the best
Awesome job!!
My aunt made me a couple Barbie outfits, they were the best ones and my favorite. I think you did an awesome job!

Do you ever run into any web browser compatibility issues?
A handful of my blog readers have complained about my blog not operating correctly in Explorer but looks
great in Firefox. Do you have any ideas to
help fix this problem?
Hello Web Admin, I noticed that your On-Page SEO is is missing a few factors, for one you do not use all three H tags in your post, also I notice that you are not using bold or italics properly in your SEO optimization. On-Page SEO means more now than ever since the new Google update: Panda. No longer are backlinks and simply pinging or sending out a RSS feed the key to getting Google PageRank or Alexa Rankings, You now NEED On-Page SEO. So what is good On-Page SEO?First your keyword must appear in the title. Then it must appear in the URL.You have to optimize your keyword and make sure that it has a nice keyword density of 3-5% in your article with relevant LSI (Latent Semantic Indexing). Then you should spread all H1,H2,H3 tags in your article.Your Keyword should appear in your first paragraph and in the last sentence of the page. You should have relevant usage of Bold and italics of your keyword. There should be one internal link to a page on your blog and you should have one image with an alt tag that has your keyword....wait there's even more Now what if i told you there was a simple WordPress plugin that does all the On-Page SEO, and automatically for you? That's right AUTOMATICALLY, just watch this 4minute video for more information at. Seo Plugin
If some one desires expert view regarding blogging and site-building then i advise him/her to pay a
quick visit this website, Keep up the nice work.
Because the admin of this web page is working, no uncdrtainty very soon it ill be renowned, duue to
its feature contents.
I’m nnot that much off a internet reader to be honest but
your blogs really nice, keep it up! I'll go
ahad andd bookmark your site to come back later. Many thanks
Heey very nice blog!

I'm amazed, I must say. Rarely do I encounterr a blog that's equially educative and interesting, aand let
me tell you, you have hit the nail on the head. The problem is something wnich too
few people are speaking intelligently about. I am very happy I found thks
during my search for something concerning this.
Please let me know if you're looking forr a
article writer for your blog. Yoou have some really

The only problem was I didn't know how to sew heheh ryc: Your right it is good reading weather
Good romance novel with a glass of iced tea listening to the storm in the background is perfect
ryc: do a search for bb's grocery outlet for the correct addys, but there is one in quarryville, newburg (where I go) and Schaefferstown (sp?)...it's definitely worth a little drive!
Hugs,
L
