Life in Rural Pennsylvania
Life in rural Pennsylvania...
I am on my way outside to husk, blanch ,cut off,bag and freeze corn,we have
300 ears!!
What a shindig....we have a tent set up in the yard, two gas burners for cooking and a large tub of cold water to cool the corn in after it is blanched. My 92 yr old Mother-in-law,the twins ,my husband, my Mom and two great grand children that she babysits will all be there...
I know you are jealous of all this FUN!!!
UPDATE: WE WERE DONE BY 5:30,WE HAD FOUR GENERATIONS WORKING TOGETHER ON THE TASK!
Then yesterday...
when it rains here we have no internet connection .It rained all day and we were off line so we took time to make two more videos for TheTheologiansCafe's
Don't worry,
I am not going to solicit votes this time!!!
But if you have time, comment the videos please.

Hey, I have a place in rural Pennsylvania too!
Great videos!
That Foot family is very close-knit, huh? They do EVERYTHING together!
The twins are adorable...and you have a great voice! I bet they love spending time with you.
Thanks for the videos. You make the best videos.
I am now hungry for corn of the cob.
300 lets just say unless you are a fast then it will be next year before you post again.
Lovely yellow corn. Here it is all checkerboard. It all tastes good! I'm not much for shucking though. I think I was traumatized by finding a worm in an ear when I was little.
I remember some of those corn parties! I also remember fresh corn on the cob for Sunday dinners. I remember my brother putting his empty cobs on my sister's plate like she had eaten them... and she didn't catch on right away. Frozen corn just isn't the same. I really miss those days. Thanks for the pleasant memory. I loved the videos.
i'll come back to watch the videos later, just making my general rounds at this point:)
have fun corning, hehe! interesting that the weather affects your internet that way... hmm, must be moody internet connection
300 ears of corn? YIKES! I don't envy you a bit!
The videos are adorable. I'll bet your kitchen smelled really good while you were baking!
I loved the videos...I need to learn to make them too.
Hugs
mary
I can't wait to watch the video's once I am home. For some reason I can not watch them at work. I just know they are going to be too precious.
How are ewe today? That corn looks soooo goood!!
I was waiting for the Foot Family to drink their tea.
I love the videos, sweetie! So much fun, and educational too, hehe.
Thanks for letting us in your life like that.
I am going to make those quiches next time I have to bring something to a get-together!
I gather you haven't heard from Brad eitehr, huh?
Big hugs,
L
I enjoyed the videos. When I was watching the salsa video, I had on the Harry Potter sound track. Your husband was picking tomatos to heroic music. It was funny. I have seen the mini bacon quiches before, I think it was starred and I saw it looking at starred posts.
what fun! cool videos! have you considered your own cooking show or garden show? martha stweart needs some fresh competition...
i want some quiches!!!
I freeze my own corn too...........love it..........especially in the winter when that corn taste so very good...........we have a lot in common my friend.............hugs.
I love the videos Beth. That Daddy's hands one made me emotional. Mostly because of my kids. The only time I felt my daddy's hand was on my butt when I was little and then fists as I got older. Sad. And I have to tell you again that you are super coll with the kids. And your voice would be great for radio. Have a good day, Beth.
That Daddy's Hands video was precious. Reminds me of how my little boy is getting so fond of his daddy.
all I know is that I'm getting awful hungry.....
The salsa sounds really good. The onions sound great, I am not a big cilantro fan however....just a wee bit perhaps. And I could take or leave the guacomole stuff....i.e. avocados. So they are twins? The girl looks so much bigger! What a great activity with their aunt, and doing it for someone else to boot!
I just love fresh corn on the cob! And all the tomatoes! My wife made corn fritters the other day...YUMMY!
I LOVE fresh corn...actually it all looks so yummy!!!
Oh what wonderful videos. Thanks. Judi
I just love driving through the countryside this time of year, the corn is simply gorgeous and invites many pictures, if it weren't so gosh darned hazy right now....I haven't been in a picture taking mode of late anyway....
So how do you make corn fritters? I'm not sure all what she puts in them but I know there are bacon and cheese in there...
I voted on Daddy's Hands earlier today, I didn't realize it was yours, but it received five stars on it's merit alone. Do you cream corn. My grandpa used to cream corn, and it was so yummy... I miss that.
Hugs, Tricia
I came back and brought a spoon. I don't think forks are very practical when it comes to eating corn.
Oh Beth, Daddy's Hands was BEAUTIFULLY done!! I can't wait until my little girl gets here and hopefully has that kind of a relationship with her father...
Thank you for sharing that with us!!!
I cooked corn on the cob for dinner! The one thing I miss about living in rural Indiana is the fresh produce that was so readily available everywhere.
do you shear sheep?
do you shear sheep?
Thank you
Love those videos and the corn, too. ha!
Have a great day, girl!!!
Hugs!
Then for your safety and ours: DON'T USE TED KENNEDY'S NAME AND THE WORD NAKED IN THE SAME SENTENCE!
AAAHH! DAMN! I JUST DID IT TOO.
suck.
the kids look like they enjoy helping out.
i love corns! grill them and put that butter on it..lol
Your four genertations brought back memories of times on my uncles farm, except it was chickens not corn.

Why, thankee kindly!
Ha, wear purple for me now!
I LOVE corn on the cob. Lots of butter and a little salt makes for some fine eaten....lol.
Oh, I wish I had corn to do! What a sticky mess! But Mom and I use to do it outside with fans blowing accross the tables to keep the flies away, then we could just hose it down!
I love doing corn though!
Ooh, I just LOVE fresh corn on the cob. I am coming to your house and eating every last ear of corn! Ready the butter and the salt. I am on my way!
BTW, how can you NOT like onions? I love onions, especially the RED ones! Yummy! After I am done chowing down all the corn, I am starting on the chips and salsa. Darn food, now I am hungry again!
Wow, that's a lot of corn! Are y'all selling it? Eating it all?
I liked them all but Daddy's Hands was the best.
the baking video with the twins was cute, and the little quiches looked yummy.
Damn girl your making us all look slow in
your neck of the woods. Take a break.....
I have been so busy and cant keep up.
