Green Acres
Green acres is the place to be.
Farm livin’ is the life for me.
Land spreadin’ out so far and wide
Keep Manhattan, just give me that countryside.
New York is where I’d rather stay.
I get allergic smelling hay.
I just adore a penthouse view.
Dah-ling I love you but give me Park Avenue.
The chores. The stores.
Fresh air. Times Square
You are my wife Good bye, city life.
Green Acres we are there!

I love classic TV.
I don't remember "Here Comes the Brides". Do you know what that one was about?
Haha.. Tim is obsessed with the Dukes of Hazzard.
Some of those shows I really like!
Did you give up on your background?
Haha you're so cute! What didn't you understand?
That was interesting. I think Gilligans Island is my favorite. Have a good day.
Oh how fun... I will have to spend some time playing there!
All I have to say is, CJ to the rescue.
Because I have no clue how to do that.. and she will!
Those are all the TV shows I remember and grew up watching. What a blast from the past!! And thanks for including "Emergency!" LOL
I used to watch "Room 222," and I don't see it up there, but do you remember "Mod Squad?" They were both on around the same period of time.

What a creative post! This really made me smile! So many memories flashing before. Where's the Cosby Show? Love that one for some reason.
RYC- I always knew you were a trouble maker! LOL...
Oh I love all of them!!! Good thoughts!!1 Have a great Humpy Day!!!
I loved watching I love Lucy she was the funniest
sadly, these are all before my time- i remember seeing glances of the reruns on Nickelodeon for Nick at Nite- but usually I just changed the channel thinking- yuck! old people shows! but now I might appreciate them better- I did like watching I Love Lucy and Ed and Gilligan's Isle, but as soon as Andy Griffith came on- click!
Fun, fond memories!
HOw are you?
I have the Green Acres theme song on my phone. I love it.
I remember more than a few of those theme songs. It brings back memories of when I was the child not the mother. My my how I miss those days!
i loved mash above all others, but, man, there is some good tv on that list.
why can't tv today look a little more like that?
go get a tenny weeny little pre lite one.they are really cheap and coemon now you gotta do a tiny little one.......
Hey Beth! I get GAMES magazine. this issue there was a puzzle match the sitcom with the theme song beginning lines. lol You helped me solve the two I didn't know. Thanks lol See obscure pop knowledge can be a fun thing. lol You rock. Ang
Call me weird, but I was always a sucker for the Dukes of Hazzard. Granted the movie blew chunks.
Wow, you brought back memories. I'm feeling a little old now!! lol My kids tease me about watching reruns of Brady Bunch, Little House On The Prairie and The Waltons. I guess my taste in TV shows my age huh? Have a great day.
Now that looks like a great link...
omgomgomgomgomgomg...I just sat here and sang almost all of these..one day at a time...hahaha
I'm all out of applesauce! *sniff*
A really Outstanding job with the Theme songs. I had to check out some of the Lyrics to see if i still remembered all the words.
Now that was really neat!! Fortunately I get TV Land and I watch a lot of those shows now - Some I had forgotten though!
Thanks for the walk down memory lane!
Blessings, Cheryl
I sure miss tv shows like we used to watch. I've been really sick and spent the good part of today watching old Andy Griffith shows.
Does anyone remember a puppet like show that used to be on in the early 60's...it was a family who lived under a tree? They were some kind of dog family or something and they had a friend that was Priscilla the elephant. I keep thinking The Tuddles or Tuttles or something. This has bugged me for years. Help!
Thanks for bringing back these great memories. I remember The Real McCoys, and The Farmer's Daughter too. And how about The Patty Duke Show...I liked that one too.
My favorites of all time are Mash and I Love Lucy....
AWESOME !!!!! ^_^ Now that was great tv!
Listening to green acres theme song just made me thing of a thread on a different xanga asking what marriage is and means....
and that show totally describes marriage for better or worse...
between ripping his wife away from her city life, making her live on that farm and in that horible house.... and her making him eat her awful cooking.
Those outdate me.
But hooray for re-runs!
Thank you so much for leaving me a voice comment! I think I ran out of money or my phone is somehow broken, so I cannot return the favour. :-/ Bummer.
I had the same thing happen to me (well I wasn't on medicine and wasn't at Walmart) but I was going through this conversation area trail. . .and running to get to the outhouse. . .nearly there. . .could see it. . .when I couldn't hold in any longer. . .but I was on my own. . .sure there were other people around, but not with me/and they didn't notice as something kinda. . .plopped out from my pant leg lol in a definitely solid form. TMI?
Room 222's opening was filmed at LA High School the school I went to.Unfortunately the building had to be torn down due to the Sylmar earthquake.
Mad magazine did a spoof on room 222 and claimed that black students were imported, actually it was the other way around, white students had to be imported and the Jewish white students stopped going to LA High after 1970.
Now thanks to the way the blog was set up I now have the theme song in my computer and will see if I can save the song and put it in my Palm Tungsten...
ryc: Thanks
Hey thanks for the links, how fun!!!!!!!
Gee, the only I don't recognize is Here Come the Brides. While I didn't watch'm all, I do remember'm. Funny thing is I've been catching a glimpse here'n there at Green Acres reruns lately . . . that Lisa she's pretty sharp!
Oooh, I'm gonna hafta go check The Addams Family's lyrics'n see just how badly I butchered'm . . .
RYC - YES! ..I can't wait!
It brings some sweet nostalgy to hear the song of the past and we feel happy .
I made a typing mistake in my previous comment .Please read : " your are very beautiful on the picture " .Thanks
Love
Michel
Hey! I always love your wacky website wednesdays! Old TV shows are the best!
Neat trains in the last post - Thanks! Old TV is neat too!
Night!
You brought back many good memories! I know a lot of those songs. I admit that I know most of them. This was an excellent post Beth!
Donkeys deserve credit - but they often have to use cash!
Beth I need you to email me your size in tops, sweatshirts. Oh and your home address, too! You have my gmail addy...okay? I wanna send you something in appreciation of you.
i have been sooo busy but i had to hurry and let you know.
jennifer
I love it! Nostalgia that one can hum all day!
ryc . . . I'm drawn to your pretty eyes, so I never noticed the bangs. Wait, is that the one you mentioned in the pic from a previuos post? I did look for it when you mentioned it in the post but only because you made me look.
wow, you're a photoshop geekette, huh? even p'shopped The Hoff . . . gee, I hadn't noticed his speedo was originally black, I'll hafta go back'n look at my copy. heheh ehehe I really should become more familiar with that software. I think I'm the only one in the U.S. who hasn't used it.
and 'bout my pic . . . by the time I got'round to searching for Xmas pics, the cool ones were taken already . . . and well, this is the time of year when Santa comes, right? ooooh, my bad . . . yeah I know I'm on the naughty list . . . oh well! hehh ehehee
I've seen a lot of those in reruns since we didn't have a TV until 1988. I still like to watch some of the reruns on TVLand. They beat some of the other stuff that's on TV now.
I watch some of those on retro tv with my daughter. Great post, i seen the pics in previous posts. All very nice, I had no idea though you can photoshop hair. I don't know much about photoshop. I such at it, I just like making cards in there. Cute things which my daughter thinks is silly. But I use them for backgrounds on my monitor.
Hope you have a wonderful thursday.
Hugs,
~May
Thanks for the visit and comments. Everythingaholics rock. Please stop by anytime. I really enjoyed your site and went through ALL your photos.
The online publication rack crowded, that make selling your goods
challenging.
You made some good points there. I looked on the internet for the issue
and found most people will go along with your website.
Excellent post however , I was eager to know if you could write a litte more
about this subject? I’d be very thankful if you could elaborate a little bit further.
Cheers!
