                                       I LOVE TO TALK!!!!!

I have always been very vocal ,ever since the first day home from the hospital when I would lift my head up and holler everytime my dad hacked his smokers cough.Once, when I was little, a lady whom I irritated(she had red painted toe nails and I told her that they looked bloody) said to me "Don't you ever shut up?" I pondered the question for a while and simply  said "No". That was no news flash for her.She was on the daily route that I walked to visit the neighbors. From the time that I was four in 1966 until I was eight in 1971 (I am pictured here from around then, with a pickle in my mouth)august 06 633c I would go around the block and visit the elderly neighbors.I  usually only stayed for a few minutes.I would sing jingles, ditties or  Sunday School songs, maybe tell a silly joke, give them a picture that I drew  or tell them the latest news.I always took my dolly "Suzy" Facevwith me.There were some words that I did not say correctly and they had me say them often,"refridgemerator" is the one I remember. When I moved away ,two of the couples came to see me several times.I walked all by myself to make my rounds. That is something that most kids today will not know, the freedom to be outside alone and test your boundaries and and feel safe doing it.

I like these  Voice Comments ,I think that they're fun! I do not much care for my voice when I hear it but it works and is the one I have so I  use and abuse it whenever possible...I did not put this here to get comments, they are fun but I wanted you to hear the ones on here.I did this for Cynarajanes voice challenge.

I received a Monkey email today from rantingwraven

The monkey delivers a message either in your voice or you can type a message and pick one of their voices to say it,the monkey actually looks like he is talking. It is really cool.

These are fun to do,something the kids will especially enjoy too, thanks rantingwraven!

  • I would, but I hate the sound of my voice. I know, someday I'll grow up... Ang

  • Ohh! I'll have to leave you one of those one of these days!

  • THIRD! I'm getting worse at this! LOL

    You are so cute!!

Me, I have always been on the quiet side, but my best friend is a talker. We always complememnted one another that way.

  • ...with a pickle tucked into your cheek, huh? what a cutie. see if i do a voice comment i would probably giggle just like you. you sound so much fun. i love these thingies, just as much as I love my cellphone for allowing me to call. i'll leave you a comment soon as my voice sounds decent, okay? im sick right now.

  • I will have to call and leave you a message tomorrow! :)

  • 43rd! It is getting harder and harder to get #1 on your site Beth. I remember words that I couldn't pronounce...I still can't pronounce "toy boat" three times fast...but I bet you can't either. I dare you to try! I remember that I would say shausage (sausage) and I had a helll of a time pronouncing the word "turtle" correctly in school. It's hard when English is your second language. That "tle" sound is crazy hard to learn! Your voice sounds extremely fun and exactly like I pictured it...seriously. God bless you for being you Beth. Oh, and I like that chipmonk (sp?) picture of you. lol.

  • This voice message thing is really fun!!!!

  • You have a nice voice.    You have that rural PA sound, not the Philly sound.

  • It would be wonderful if children today could have the freedom we had.I too wandered a bit from one kitchen to another:) I thried the voice thing..its funny how recording anything turns my brain to mush:)

  • we couldnt really do things like that where i grew up, but where my best friend lived in green acres (it really does exsist, who knew?) we would walk around together all the time. there was this awesome hill you could watch the sun go down over the corn fields, it was a favorite spot of ours.
sorry to take so long responding, but thanksgiving was ok, the sweet potato pie wasnt nearly as good as i hope it would, and because my sister in law didnt put the turkey in the oven till 3ish, we didnt get to eat till 8, and i had to wake up at 4:45 the next morning to get to work by 6!
    it was a crazy thanksgiving...

  • I remember the days when we rode our bikes all over the place without adult supervision. We had lots of  "adventures" in the neighbor's barn.

Hope you are having a good week.

  • that's really neat that you would visit the elderly as a child

isn't it sad that anymore it's not very safe for children to play in their own neighborhoods? i remember my childhood being safer than today and that was only 10 years ago! crazy world!

i've always been a little jealous of people who are good at talking- i have always been a very fast talker and i tend to stutter so when people meet me they almost always have trouble understanding me- but most get used to it after awhile.. i make up for that with writing- that's my communicative gift

i love dill pickles too! cute pic:)

  • You have a fun laugh. Neat voice post...

  • I'm not a talker, but a listener.  Sometimes it really frustrates me that when I'm on the phone or with my friends, that I'm not the one talking.  I guess I feel I'd rather talk when I have something profound to say, not just ramble on.  Oh well.  I love the monk-e-mail!  How fun, and I think kids would love it!
I grew up on a farm.  The neighbor boy and I had bikes and we'd meet halfway between our houses (they lived about 1/2 mile away), then we'd go riding all over the place -- fields, the road, by the creek.  It was always safe -- no strangers around.  It'd be nice if kids today could experience that freedom and safety.

  • your laugh is infectious.  which is a good thing.  I felt happy just hearing it.  Thank you.

  • I just love hearing your voice....You have such a wonderful laugh.

    Have a good Sunday!

  • blah-blah-blablah-bublah!

    LOL!

  • lol... just imagine me giggling and that should be good enough! and you were a CUTE thing... even with mouth full of pickle!

    have a fantastic day!!!!

  • I LOVE MONK E MAIL!!!

  • I couldn't get the voice player to play.  I have been having that trouble lately.  That is such a cute picture of you.  I was always pretty shy but I remember as a child visiting with the older people in our neighborhood.  It was fun.

  • Oh, what a cutie you have always been!

    Good morning!

  • I must admit that I am a chatty person too. I am rarely found in silence. I'm always found on microphones, singing, on the phone - always talking but I have come to the conclusion that being talkative isn't a bad thing but rather something people should do more often - voicing their opinions and such.

  • Nice voice.!

  • I like your voice and love yur laugh there is nothing like a good laugh. Never met one I haven't liked. the kids and I are all over that monk e- mail thing... If I figure out how to do it we'll send you one.  Take care lady! Ang

  • a voice message has been left. My brother sent me a monkey e mail once, very fun!!!!

  • RYC - I work in the education dept of a residential state facility for folks w/ sever and profound developmental disabilities - as part of the progam we have a working greenhouse, open to the public in which we train/employ 60 of the clients to operate the greenhouse - you can see some pics in my slideshow/old posts.

  • RYC: OMG! That is SO SWEET! Tell Lee I said hello.

  • lol i do that too =]
and im glad you had a good thanksgiving =]

  • I can just see your perky little self, circulating through the neighborhood!! I couldn't figure how to listen to your voice, do I have to have an mp3 player to do mine?

  • NOthing new to say Beth except that I LOVE YOU!!! I just read your comment on my Tupac post. Thanks.

  • Great pics - Great post all round!!  Really enjoyed it!

    Happy Sunday!!!!!!!

  • im thinking its a really good thing you read my stuff, who else would say something worth listening to?

  • great to hear you again.  awesome answer to the snotty woman.

    part 2 is up

  • You know, I've been seeing your comments on alot of other blogs I frequent but for some (really) odd reason, I never popped over to see your bloggie. Now that I have, I feel as though I've been missing out. You've got some great things to say and I definatly enjoyed the voice comments. Thanks for sharing. Assuming its alright, I'll have to pop over from time to time to read a bit more. Thanks for sharing! -Bek

  • Oh, my! You used that "g" word again! I am full!

  • Thanks Beth....We were actually going to worship with you this morning but I messed things up and we did not make it. We will though....one of these weeks!!!
Looks like all four of us will be coming Friday night..I think. At least two of us anyway.
I loved your voice message....Your laugh is contagious.

  • I grew up with the Mennonite Community Cookbook also, and I use it alot. No, you did not see any sour cream cookies. They are called Lep. It is a dutch name for them.

  • Heheh I've seen one of those monkey messages before, they're hilarious.

RYC: Thanks, they're draining a bit better now.

  • RYC: You mentioneing the creek...it made me think of another happy memory I have to post!!

  • Ha that's funny... I call my son Picklepuss (Cause it rhymes with Nicholas... sorta) Now I can start calling you Picklepuss!!! Ha... But I probably won't ... because you might think I'm being mean and tell mom, and Christmas is just around the corner, so I have to be on my best behavior...

  • Congratulations on your baby, Genesis!

    Have a great day! - JN.14:27 Rom.5:8

  • Hi Beth I just left you a voice comment and thank you for leaving me one as well this is to fun, you sound great that was such a cute message :)

  • I live in Chambersburg,pa.

  • I finally figured out the player, come on over and record your lovely voice! Wish i could do it on everyone else's sites, but I can't afford to use up all of the units-we're poor.

  • When I was young I could never say the word "Lawyer", I always said, Laller and since you know me, how ironic is that? LOL

  • It is too bad that kids can't really wonder around by themselves anymore.  I don't have to go that far to get into neighborhoods which I hardly want to walk in by myself now much less as a little kid.  I feel like we have lost something there.

  • You have a good week too!

  • Goodnight, Beth! Sweet dreams!!

  • We are kindred spirits. I will usually talk to just about anyone about just about anything--just ask Donkey.....

  • g'nite & good luck with your big whoop-te-do this weekend. I've got a couple of things coming up this week, too....

and gave it to my 4 year old daughter and said "You can hear the ocean if you put this to your ear." She put the shell to her ear and screamed.
There was a hermit crab inside and it pinched her ear. She never wants to go back!
