Barbie Portraits
My 6 year old niece loves to take family portraits...
of Barbies.
Mom has to change dresses.I made the first dress,it is in a pic below too.Someday I'll post a fashion show of some of the Barbie clothes I've made.
Dining Barbies ...Skipper has a whole turkey to herself! .Can you see the Spaghetti and Meatballs on their plates?The baby even has a bib on and a rattle!.
Babies Playing...
Dancing and Dating...Notice the wedding dress and the Boxers.She uses magazines and books for background scenery.I don't know how well you can see it but behind the dancing couple is a chandelier .She found a pic of a fancy room in a book we got when we were in Savannah about 'The Low Country'.

I figured that since I am already out ,I should have some fun....atleast lunch! I do not mind going out alone,especially to the Mexican restaurant,I get the salsa to myself!!!!

I can't tell you all how much I enjoy you,I needed friends.I love it here in the country but there is no one to be social with outside of my family(whom I love very much!) I just needed you, so thankyou to you all!

I picked up my 3 yr. old niece and we made an afternoon or it.She is funny The other day she was looking thru the fridge for something to eat and she pulls the can of whipped cream out and points to the pic of strawberry shortcake on the front and said "I want these strawberries!"I could not convince her that they were not in that can,I even spayed some on her finger..

I like the way she thinks. Bet it is fun to play dolls with her. My mom use to make doll clothes too. I had a pretty good collection at one time. Mom use to make my clothes from feed sacks, and I was so proud of them. The scraps were used for the doll clothes. You couldn't find duplicates in the store!
That is really cute. I am amazed that she thinks to use backgrounds, for cryin' out loud. Six years old! The look on Skipper's face is...disturbing, lol. She looks like she had some kind of eye work done!

very creative! i played with barbies, but not to that degree of imagination... i was too busy reading books or climbing trees, oh well look what i missed! i wonder how she came up with the idea to use magazines as backgrounds- sounds like something my genius cousin katie would do ( yes, genius- she's in princeton!)

OK. but if she is still 20 and doing it I call for an intervention...
I think its great!! I used to do that as a kid too, but thats when it was FILM and you had to pay for it and pay to develop it. fortunately my mom was never too upset over me doing it.
And the magazine pictures for backgrounds is genious! what a sharp lil gal!

Sounds like she has an incredible imagination. I loved playing with Barbies growing up. I never had all the fancy clothes or furniture....so I would make my own from stuff around the house.

Ooooohhhhhhhh....I did so enjoy that, very much!!! When I was a child, I had a huge love for dolls of all kinds. They were my family. If I wasn't playing with my dollies, I was playing with my Barbies. This just took me way back, and made me remember being a kid again. Thank you! I too use to make my Barbies clothes, even maternity ones! Lol

She sounds so smart and creative! I was such a tomboy..I played with little army men as a child. And when they "died in battle" I would put my sister's red nail polish on them as blood and bury them in the back yard : )

Thanks for the shower idea! I appreciate it. Love the Barbies too. I used to love to play with Barbies and baby dolls. I made clothes for my dolls, although not too fancy because I was only 10. I envy you your home in the country with the mountains in the background. I live in the city with neighbors on both sides. I can't complain though because our city is only 65,000 and our side of town is pretty quiet. Plus, we live only 5 blocks from the lake! Our yard has mature trees and we have lots of squirrels and birds which I hear sing every morning in the summer. So I close my eyes and pretend I'm in the country....without the country air!! lol Have a great day!

Barbie! I love Barbie...I used to make clothes for them when the girls were little....
That brought back memories for me. My grandmother used to make clothes for my barbies and we would sit and play together having fashion shows.

It was the first time I ever made bagels and I thought of you. You would have taken pictures all through the process and entertained us with it. i love the pictures.. where do you get the patterns for the barbie clothes? I hate those bratz dolls. My kids love to set up their toys and take pictures. It doesnt matter what toys, action figures, stuffed animals,barbies,and hotwheels. I dont know why, maybe they will become photographers someday.. Have a great one.
