Xanga Footprints
DO YOU CHECK YOUR FOOTPRINTS???
SOMETIMES I GET FOOT PRINTS FOR PEOPLE SEARCHING FOR THINGS ,I CHECK THEM OUT BECAUSE YOU NEVER KNOW WHAT PEOPLE ARE LOOKING FOR..
THIS IS PART OF A i POST THAT I WROTE sOON AFTER i STARTED BLOGGING...

yep. i check my footprints all the time. i recently implemented xanga lock to block out people looking at my site that aren't logged in as a xanga user. they also have to enable footprints as well. otherwise it's a no go for them.

LOL, I get some strange ones sometimes...mostly about "spanking" from a post I did about my evil stepfather.
A lot of the searches I get now are "Tupac," but that's not so strange...lol.
hehe, pee! i check my footprints but I never thought to look at what they were looking for, I should do that...
do you think it can become addicting to look at your footprints? when one of my college friends on here started checking hers she soon complained that she had become obsessed at checking hers all the time... I've done similarly , but I'm not obsessed yet...

lol!! Of course I can't help looking at my footprints...I'm addicted. I always get a thrill when I see people from all over the world are reading my site.

I used to get lots of searchbots, but that's stopped recently.
i've had some really crazy footprints. all it takes is one word. crazy.
I check my footprints too... sometimes I check what they were searching but usually I don't cuz I think it would just freak me out! LOL @ yours though

Haha, I disabled all that stuff! I don't like strangers coming to my site! Anway, my Aunt tells me that we'll be able to come meet you on December 1st! Then you can meet my babies in person! I am excited!

Ok...I see the footprints now....never noticed it was there....lol. However, I don't see anything that shows what others are searching for....or not that I can tell anyway.
You go into account settings and click on privacy.. there's all kinds of stuff you can disable & enable!!
I have the xanga foot prints but i did not know we could check the ones that were there because of a search... I would probably be disconcerted if i knew how to do that. I do look at it but mostly to see if my son or brother have been by because they like to read but don't drat it all comment:)

RYC: ROFL! Well, I dunno...if it wasn't Tupac it may not have been so great for him!
I do check now and then but it's not a regular habit. Still, it's nice to see when you have more readers than commenters. Not everyone likes to comment. And I know I sometimes mean to after reading and then get interrupted and don't make it back.
RYC: I played other instruments before I learned mandolin. I only learned under extreme pressure. I was dating a musician and had started just barely playing. We were out for dinner one night and he auditioned to play at the restaurant. I played "backup" just to help him out. (I've never been big on performing.) And the guy insisted on hiring both of us. I walked around with headphones in my ears at work all day playing this old Italian music then went home and played with it for a few hours every night. It was fun--but intense.
RYC: LMAO! Yes, it is! My stupid typing fingers...lol. Eh...I'll fix it tomorrow, lol.
I look all the time. Before I put up xanga lock on both of my sites I got footprints from someone in Cech and Uk. They were stealing pictures off the site and reading one in particular post. I was getting tired of it. I got a few footprints from extremely perferted perferts as well. I had a guy who runs a pornography site here on xanga looking at my cooking blog. Then he came over to the other one. That ended that. I put up xanga lock. I was also getting googled by bloglines.com and google looking for sexy pictures. I have had over 1700 footprints on the site one day when I was on featured. I had only fifty comments. I checked back on all the footprints and was so tired I didnt comment everyone. I dont understand where these idiots come from. I even blocked one teenager for leaving one particularly bad comment and one of my subscribers had to read it and he nearly ran for cover and wondered what i did to deserve the comment. Sorry words were a flowing and I felt like blushing after the kid commented. Even xanga got a comment and he also got flagged big time for his remark.
RYC I found this out by really reading the footprints. Plus like when they go to the post it will say pictures. They have checked out pictures. The same way that when someone goes through your photoblogs there is a footprint saying who went through the photoblogs. The way I found out the guy was pornographer was the kind of site I came across when I checked out the site in the footprints. I could literally send you link after link of sites that I have come across here on xanga. There was one or two guys I told xanga about that were selling drugs out on the open site and not hiding it. He also posted a few sites where he directed those who were interested in finding out about having whoopie with others and could set you up besides. You also could learn alot from the blogs sites in xanga. I was gonna sign up for a few and came across some I wont speak of in public. They were that disgusting.
Oh I check my footprints but I have a question, how do you find out what they are searching for when they find you like your "copy/paste" pics up there??? Is that google or yahoo searches???
I try to check every couple of days . . . not too many people are looking for what I post, I'm sure.
I still don't know about checking footprints. Do you have to be premium or not.It would be interesting. You made featured!!

Okay, stupid question...new to xanga ... .how do I check what they are searching for??? I don't know how to do that. I know how to check footprints and to see where they were referred from but thats it.
